You could use command strips to hang the sign on the wall, slightly above the garland. That’s how we hang seasonal signs/decor throughout our house. No new nail holes, no mess, and no stress! 🙂 P.S. 3M velcro strips would be great to hang that "O Holy Night" sign. You can buy Hurst beans on the East Coast. As far as I know, baking soda does reduce gas. Bromo Seltzer is an old OTC medicine for indigestion. It first ingredient is sodium bicarbonate, aka baking soda. Soak the beans overnight, and the skins will be softer. My husband's parents and my dad were from Oklahoma, so we were raised on beans. Pinto beans with ham hocks and cornbread.

Add a tsp of baking soda into beans while soaking then rinse beans before cooking the chemical reaction gets rid of the gas from beans

You can use command strips for hanging pictures, to hang to picture just above the garland. They are like Velcro and when Christmas is over you can remove them easily.

A good way to make it so the print above the fireplace is behind the garland, but tall enough to read the bottom is to put it on top of a piece of wood - the wood will make it taller and will be hidden by the garland.

The bean gas thing is true. You're rinsing away the phytic acid which is what leads to gas. It helps if you have a little (like tablespoon) of ACV in the original soaking water.

If you use the blue tacky stuff used for posters and just put a little on the corners of the container in your silver ware drawer, that would keep it in place! I do that for the containers in my bathroom drawer and they haven’t budged at all. And it’s not too sticky to where it will ruin the inner part of the drawer

Re: bread, I don't eat a ton of bread. So I freeze when my loaf is about to go funky and turn that bread into dressing for roast chicken. I buy bread every 2-4 months and when I've got a bunch of partial loaves frozen taking up way too much space, I plan to roast a chicken. I dislike the texture of a lot of frozen things, so I rarely freeze things other than meat, butter, bread, and frozen isle items.

Use the Command hooks that come off without leaving a hole OR place some scrap 2x4 underneath the frame behind the garland (which the garland will hid the 2x4) and it will raise it up above the garland! :)

Put your sign on risers!! Get some wood blocks/crates/boxes or anything flat that will raise your sign up so you can have it behind AND see the bottom! Just hide it behind the garland and boom! Problem solved! Love the look!
