I use to work for the government as we used beagles at the airport to detect meats in baggage and these little dogs were trained to sit when the detected meat it was so much fun to watch them and your dog so remindes me of those dogs. I usually drink peppermint tea with a few ginger slices this helps when I can feel the headache coming. Other wise if it's full blown headache I have extra strength ibuprofen with my normal orange pekoe tea that usually helps.

Usually when I get one of those headaches, I end up realising that I had not drunk enough water and had too much tea instead. So probably it is dehydration. Check if you have had much coffee and not drunk enough water when you get one of those . You mentioned that it went away after you did some training but maybe you drank plenty of water because of the training and so it helped to relieve the headache.
