I just used that same black fabric to make a hacked Helen's Closet Reynold's dress. It was a dream to sew with and looked so good. I can't wait to see your dress in it! Also love the idea of day clubbing and being in your pjs with at tea at 8pm :-)

I made a Nikko maxi length in a merino wool and it is a fabulous black dress. Not as short as your idea but super cozy! Black leopard is great. Make a maxi? I have sewn a label on the back about 2" down from the collar. The other option is a little label at the bottom hem.

As our kids got older I put a sleeping bag beside my bed on the floor. If they need mommy they would come in and sometimes wake me so we could hold hands until they fall asleep. Saves the spider kids during the night kicking and taking up the bed and they ge comfort they need.
