I have see someone give birth in real life and you loose alot of blood during the process.... So before blood transfusions was a thing this was probably a fantastic way to recoup the blood you loose during birth. Also there is a lot of dense nutrience in the placenta and umbilical cord. Many of y'all complaining about how gross this is probably have no idea just howany skin care products have this in it, plus people happy line up for vaccines that have fetus cells in it and people literally get blood transfusions and plasma transfusions and stem cell transfusions. Y'all just think cuz it comes in pretty packaging you on a moral high ground. Part of the human mind sickness is that we think we are indifferent to animals and smarter then them. Wrong. Also in the modern world clearly this is an optional choice and not a life and death choice. I just want to see one good reason to eat your placenta. Take into consideration that most people don't, there are tons of nutritional alternatives, and the placenta is a toxin filter. Somebody give me a legitimately good reason to eat your placenta. Can't say for nutritional loss because she didn't have to eat a placenta to get the nutrients in the first place. Can't say because it's healthy in general because you're likely not eating it raw and cooking it will likely drop any nutritional value lower than plate full of super foods. Carry a baby for 9 months and finally have the baby thinking it's all behind you now. NOPE one last thing lady! because its a natural instinctual thing to that has been kept hidden from us. We humans are the only mammals that don't eat it because of the government portraying it as "toxic waste" and "harmful to our bodies" even though it was inside of us, keeping our baby safe and healthy for 9 months. Eating the placenta lets your body know that you have just given birth and that its now okay to shut down/stop producing extra blood flow, oxygen etc to the location where the placenta was faster and more efficiently compared to people who don't. It gives the mother the energy she needs to recover quicker and is less likely to suffer from post partum symptoms.

Wow. It's crazy how many of you are willing to comment thinking you know what you're talking about when you actually really need to educate yourselves. Eating the placenta is extremely natural. A lot of women do it, a lot of animals do it also. It's an organ that your body grows while you also grow the baby( it's what transfers the nutrients from what you eat to your baby) and when it comes out you CAN eat it. It's extremely healthy for you, it's packed with vitamins and natural minerals that help with postpartum. It's not toxic by any means lol it's actually kind of funny that some people would really believe it's toxic. In my opinion everyone should eat their placenta. It's nature, it's what many moms in the animal kingdom do, so it makes sense that we would too. It's really not that grotesque especially for those of you who eat meat?? Yeah it comes from your body but it's INTENDED to be eaten. You don't get grossed out at the fact that you'll eat every part of a cow though? That doesn't make any sense. It's not like you're eating another fucking person so no it definitely isn't cannibalism. Try being more open minded?
