Hey, great to see another reactor discover what I call one of the most important bands of the moment. First, they are three exceptionally talented young women from a tiny village near Garut, Indonesia. They were raised virtually on dirt floors near rice fields, and have worked extremely hard to get where they are. I have infinite respect for them for all of that. One thing to keep in mind about the punk side of things, which these girls embrace: 1: It died in ~1986, never to be seen again. There have been some embarrassing parodies from bands thereafter, but as for real punk... nope. But VoB have all but resurrected the feel and attitude of early punk in a lot of ways; 2: Punk was about sticking a huge middle finger to the "establishment" who would criticize a band for not being absolute virtuosos on their instruments. Rock music is for the people, not robed high priests in ivory towers determining who is allowed to play music and what is good or bad. If someone wants perfection, go to a classical conservatory where one note in a sonata one microsecond out of time is considered grounds for utter failure (I'm not kidding or exaggerating). I know you saw their "imperfection" as not a bad thing, but keep in mind that every one of those imperfections is a big FU to "The System", while giving their followers a big ol party. Their originals are relatively few, but all of them are fantastic. They also have amassed an impressive array of covers which they make their own, so I do hope you keep reacting and discovering 🙂

The name of band is pronounced BAH CHE PROT...good anology would be CHE as in...cheek or cheese. Baceprot in Sundanese means " noisy". This word was chosen because it describes the type of music they play. They consider their music " Metal Funky" BUT it always consists of many genres including...Progressive, Rap Metal, Rock, Punk, Nu Metal, Funky, Underground, Heavy, Shredding and even Speed Metal !
