Interesting fact: he only has 1 nostril that he breathes through. He broke his nose when young and his parents couldn't afford to fix it so they left it as is and he only breathes through 1 side.

I will go on a limp here and say it's mainly the accent... When I don't put on my "wannabe english" accent, it sounds like I am saying "Brandon" as well in my normal accent and I know damn well how to spell and pronounce his name :D I wouldn't "judge" non-native speakers too hard too quickly, our accents come into play despite us trying hard not to have it on show. Moreover not all languages have such large difference in pronunciation of "a" and "e" to make the tangible difference while saying Brendon/Brandon.

The crazy thing is that when he's on stage being an amazing showman his voice is still on key and in control. A lot of lead singers at a concert won't sound as good aas on record because they are performing and that's absolutely fine... but he is always spot on. I find myself waiting for him to go off key, still haven't seen it. He will modify songs life into a falsetto which is his comfort zone but still, his voice is always amazing and hes never out of breath. The control he has is amazing.

Listening to him singing makes me feel tired lol he doesn't make it easy for himself, all panic's songs are vocally demanding. I hate it when he says he "doesn't know what he's doing" because that's clearly not true. He would have damaged his voice by now if he didn't know what he's doing , he's clearly trained and has put an insane amount of work towards it.

I think his Broadway training during kinky boots meant he learnt to train correctly and take care of his voice for the first time. There’s no way he could’ve done 8 shows a week if he didn’t learn and correct his vocal technique. Even he’s said his vocal training was full on during that run. He’s taken those learnings and implemented them which is why vocally he’s gotten better
