She has stopped smoking. I also think her Jazz work has strengthened her voice and helped smooth it out.

Meh, she’s always been capable of this type of vocal (and has had some pretty messy vocal runs even since starting singing jazz). IMO, I think her recent surge of creative inspiration probably inspired her to get back into fine tuning her technique across the board.

This! And I have a theory that she might be training for a Broadway show. I've been raving for years that she needs to be casted in a musical.

So glad you did this reaction. She is amazing. I think her voice took on different properties starting with "A Star is Born", specifically with the song "I'll Never love again". I had never heard her do such a high falsetto before. She's always had the power but now she's really versatile.

Originally Gaga learnt to sing with Don Lawrence the very same vocal teacher as Christina Aguilera and Mike Jagger, hence the parallels in their vocal approaches to certain sounds, like the distortions and the belting.

Such a weird dichotomy between how badly the movie is getting panned with how much praise the album is getting. Gaga must feel like she's getting whiplash.
@LinceeSeguridad2 ай бұрын
I dont think so, Gaga was hired to execute the director's idea, she did her job as an actress, the fact that the public doesnt like it la another thing , the person responsible is Todd Philips, he is the director, the one who organizes everything, Gaga could have only acted, but he wanted her to sing too.

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach I think the reason why people like Joker 1 is that the Joker Empire, because people like and worship powerful Jokers, not like Joker 2, back in the real world was subject to cruel legal sanctions, so from the fans' point of view is a failure, because they did not enjoy watching, but for the script and shooting method of the movie itself, color, singing, acting, are perfect

Something that could impact the 'clean' sound is that there is a moderate amount of pitch correction on this performance! She can be pitchy at times in her upper belts so that pitch correction here is almost needed, but it definitely helped polish it up.

In another analysis the coach said he thinks the sound is a bit live-edited so it is possible that it sound more clean than Gaga usually sounds, still being brilliant of course, she doesn't need editing; )
@ambiv59952 ай бұрын
Btw, the reason she sounds so clean and perfect and her vocal agility is too flawless at times, it's because she's using just the ever slightest amount of voice tuning that is incredibly hard to catch. Only like 3 or 4 other vocal coaches have noticed it from all the videos that I've seen, and I seen quite a few of them.
@christiandoyle77832 ай бұрын
Yeah, her agility is pretty clearly naturally great in this performance, but there is a very modest amount of tuning here.
@leem_shosh59202 ай бұрын
I think its impossible for one to not notice it, they might just avoided talking about it?
@anthonyvargas9112 ай бұрын
No avoidance. Vocal choices by Gaga, even if she was using some sort of pitch correction, it’s intentional. Not for lack of talent . She’s an artist, and that means using all tools in one’s tool box. The end goal is to portray the art. Harlequin is hopeless romantic. She would do anything for joker.

@oneintrovertsworld2 ай бұрын
It’s definitely not lip syncing, you can literally hear her breathing. Maybe a little bit of auto tune but her voice is a force of nature and she doesn’t dance or anything, so sound flows out easily and is powerful
@ZoeStibiVocalCoach2 ай бұрын
I had the same thought when I rewatched it.It could be a little bit of auto tune but it could just also be because she is a fabulous singer. The melody is quite repetitive , so it might just be practice?

PS you are LOSING THE HOLD ON ALL THE NOTES-
@lmullens752 ай бұрын
I feel like the notes were too perfect. It was like there was hardly any pitchy-bendy stuff I expect from her. Maybe she did that to contrast the torn dress and “broken” look to the set? I don’t think the studio version is quite as perfected. Maybe I need to listen again. Sound producers also could have “fixed” a few notes (I mean it’s so easy and common now days?).
