I'm so excited to see this reaction! 😍🥰 I cannot have 1 favorite Aurora song, but my 2 most favorites are "The Innocent" and "This Could Be A Dream", but JUST behind those are "You Keep Me Crawling" and "Blood In The Wine", but this entire album is amazing. It will be a bit weird for you to go back to Step 2 after this, because this new album is SO different from her previous ones, but I still hope you do. Those older songs are still great, and maybe she will go "back" to that type of sound in the next album, since this one is deliberately playful and experimental. The vocals in "Exist For Love" is from the very first "demo" recording in 2017, which she kept because she thought it contains so much emotions, that she did not want to lose (she felt that kind of love back then). While the rest of the album is recorded in Nov 2020 if I remember correctly, it was scheduled to be released Summer/Autumn 2021 but was delayed. She rented/borrowed a small castle in Norway for 1 months and recorded it there, it sounds like she knows the people that owns or takes care of the castle. Step 1 was recorded in a "castle" or mansion in France (they show part of it in the documentary "Once AURORA"), while Step 2 was recorded in a room in Norway with purple floor (and blue walls I think?), and the floor gave her a rash after she lay on it. These are just typical stories from Aurora's world 😂

Just to infuriate every recording vocalist in the world, I thought I should mention that the main vocal that we hear in 'Exist for love' is in fact her initial 'scratch track' recorded in one take over just her own piano chord scratch track and without a click track. She's THAT good that the vocal she laid as just a guide was good enough to be the final cut!

This album’s definitely an amazing one from her. Every song is different, it has its own stories or like she mentioned, each song represents its own god. I won’t skip anything in this album but my favorite’s are definitely Giving In To The Love and Heathens. BUT if she ever releases Potion For Love officially for the album, that would be my top one song, it’s just something to fall in love to, and I’d be playing it at my wedding if I’m ever lucky enough to have one.
@Geralt262 жыл бұрын
So cool. Just started to watch. All her albums are very cool, but some songs from first albums are much better live. In my opinion this new album is much more diverse and instrumental part are more 'full' (not sure how to describe it ;) ). I ending it writing it during Everything Matters. Love this song - one of my favorites from the album (even made a phone call from part of it ;) ). Also love how poetic it is and meaning of this song (how i interpret it).

Heathens is basically Aurora channeling her inner Bach. It's written almost as much vertically as horizontally. That beautiful Baroque kind of musical Sudoku. She's really not afraid to follow inspiration wherever it leads. A trait far too uncommon in music these days.

Ooh Nina, you're beautiful and so pure. Keep doing what you do. Please dive into Blackbriar, Selkie is a good start. Zora will captivate you.
She sure does have an awesome voice. Shame that her accompanying instrumentals in the "rock/pop" versions of her songs are mainstream schlock. Her acoustic performances are breathtaking but the woom woom bass beats are mundane and midi generated rhythmic sections are as impressive as a Kurzweil K250 from the 1970s. She needs a real band and a real composer to support her.

this album isn't her strongest tbh... Infections of a Different Kind of Human is wayyyy better, mainly because you hear her voice more due to better production and more...adult lyrics?
@Catastrophic_312 жыл бұрын
Step 1 is my fav but this is definitely better production in instrumentals and lyrics. I mean in case of singing we normally concentrate on vocals, the productions here are loud and immitate classical vocal placements(a bit unclear somehow in a good way). I would say she used to motivate us to live and not give up but here she speaks about what cages us from living to really know the problems to really do it.
@maxsteiner19642 жыл бұрын
One gripe though. You really should make this kind of videos longer. Its skipping to fast for the rest of us to enjoy both music and your comments. You can actually play each song a bit longer so that we can appreciate your take on the song. To listen to 2-3 secs of music, then skip, then some 2-3 secs of music, then you telling me that this is really good. I'm going "what?" What is? I haven't heard anything yet. Its quite stressful actually. I don't mean to be an asshole or anything but, its kind of annoying actually. Sorry.

It’s to do with copyright, I’d absolutely love to play the songs for longer but the videos get blocked. It doesn’t happen for everyone but I seem to have bad luck with copyright on my channel.

@@ninaschofield So sad to hear that. It seams so random though. I have watched other reactions and they play whole songs. Every song actually, from the album. Strange. But, you must be able to play more than 3 seconds of a song? Right?

@@maxsteiner1964 I’ve tried to include more of the music in my part 2 so hopefully it’s easier to watch. Last year I spoke to a reactor I see successfully uploading full songs and they told me they have a law background which gives them confidence & knowledge to appeal all copyright problems youtube flags as ‘fair use’. Perhaps lots of reactors are appealing and winning but I personally don’t yet feel confident in this approach due to the risks (court/channel shut down etc). @@stephenberson7236 Fair enough, I think you misunderstood the concept, but that's your opinion. The switch from all caps sentences is a big improvement and makes it easier to accept your opinion. @@ricky1747 nonsense! Most reviewers allow the complete phrase to be heard and then comment not review every breath. You cant criticize a singer unless you hear complete patterns and phrases. 'In depth" doesnt have to mean every breath and sound as you go. Its just a different technique. Since you arent a singer you arent aware of the facts. I performed in choruses as a tenor so I have some experience. To be honest I cant believe she never heard the song before and not be aware.
