Do you really think so? I really dislike her enunciation in this song, the words are unclear even in such a slow song. I mean it's easier to hear what Eminem sings in the fastest parts of Godzilla than what Eilish sings here. I mean she's not a bad singer in general.

And probably why insanely good singers with no personality tend to never get anywhere so don’t get considered for Grammys. It's simple. People who hate on her because she "whispers", only heard one song and defined her like that. They just don't like her style but also, they won't take the time to listen to songs like Xanny, Wish you were gay or Listen before I go, or even this one. They just have nothing else to say, so they hate. As you said, singing as she did, live, at the Brits, ain't easy, and that's why I love reactions from Vocal Coaches because you guys know what you're listening to and you never hate, you appreciate every melody and voice. Such a great review! I agree with everything you said. I've been listening to her since before her debut album and completely lost what I was doing. Kept listening to her for months, specially after the album. One thing a colleage said was "She just whispers" and I was like wtf? How does that matter if it sounds incredible but I didn't say anything I really did not even think about it before. Later on I thought something "Well, actually I should have told him to try sing it" because it's not easy at all. So yes, thank you for saying that she doesn't have to be anything else but herself :D I also got heated in a music forum when someone said she's just one hit wonder because she only whispers. I'm glad she's showing off some other vocal skills now and I'm even more excited for the future of her career, as long as she also keeps "whispering".

I love Billie Eilish. Her voice is unique and recognizable. For vocalists under the age of 20, very few female vocalists have unique recognizable voices. Diana Akuninova is another. Now I’m going to treat all you Billie Eilish fans around the world to a vocalist who passed away recently but in my generation ( 1960s ... I’m 74 years old) had a small but worldwide cult following and I consider her the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s.” Her name Morgana King with a celestial heavenly ethereal voice, unique and mesmerizing. Just like Billie. When a song by her came over the radio, ( today Spotify , KZbin , etc) within the first 30 seconds ( Like Billie Eilish today) you KNEW it was Morgana King and you stopped whatever you were doing to listen. Frank Sinatra called her the best female vocalist he ever heard. If I may so bold as to suggest you listen ( when you have a few moments) to the following 3 songs that will silence your mind and open the floodgate of your heart. The first 2 were created and posted by a “ Morgana fan” with remarkable imagery which enhanced the emotional impact!! And hope you add them to your playlist so that others may enjoy. Please KZbin “ Morgana King Happy Birthday 2017” ( 4:26 in duration). The song is called “ desert hush/I am a leaf” please be sure to click the 4:26 one ( the one with a photo of her with lyrics) and NOT the 4:25 or any of the others. “ Morgana King Prelude to a kiss” ( 3:49 duration) And finally one more that is to this day her signature song about a lover that promised to return but never did. “ Morgana King sings a taste of honey” ( 5:17 duration). So pleased that the younger generation who I send these songs to are amazed and profusely thank me for turning them on to the “ Billie Eilish of the 1960s” Again, if you love Billie , please take a few moments out of your day to listen to Morgana. Her emotionally impactful voice will transport you to another world. I promise. R.I.P. Morgana King

The youngest artist to be nominated for that many Grammys, win that many, and sing the Bond theme is something nobody should scoff at. Like her music or dont, she has achieved an amazing feat at 18 years of age. 🤘

Honestly, I'm really glad she did the belt just to make everyone shut the eff up about how she can't sing. She can and always has. I knew that ages ago with all her other live performances. It's a choice! Just because you can hit whistle registers and high notes, doesn't mean that you have to or should. Leave that to Mariah, Adele, and Ariana. Billie is on a whole other plane with her lyrics, composition and the way she emotes when she sings. All that other "stuff" sometimes takes away from the emotion we experience. I've seen her once live and cannot wait to see her again this March.

I watch a vocal coach react to her the other day and she said something that made me think and I wanted your opinion- She said that her vibrato is reversed and thats why she sounds so different to everyone.

I wouldn't say that but I get what she wants to say. Rather, I'd say that that she sometimes sings deep vocal frys very lightly that sound almost like a distorded vibrato. Sometimes they do that in a mix as a vocal effect like in Bad guy when she goes, I'm a *baaaaaad guy*. Maybe that's what she wanted to say with the vintage vibe

Really hope this whole Billie Eilish hate-train goes away soon and people accept her as the great artist she is and gonna be. People should be happy that the biggest artist right now is as real and talented as she is, instead of a massproduced popdiva that doesn’t even write their own material.

Yet she is a product of a major label that has set an image shes expected to portray. Shes not some defiant genius like everyone thinks, shes playing her role. If they told her to come out tomorrow as a complete opposite to what she is now, she would and her fans would be like "isnt she just so inventive"....no she's just a cog on a wheel that is the industry
@calliopelove20794 жыл бұрын
@@jrvbamafan1 You clearly have no idea who Billie as an artist is. The image is built by her, and it is her. She produces and writes all of the music with her brother in his childhood bedroom, and has said that her label has given her all of the freedom she needs. Not every great artist is "built" from a power-hungry label.

@@calliopelove2079 let her try to do something her label doesn't like or get less popular, and see how that works out. I think it's you that clearly doesn't know how the industry truly is.
