When Dimash came to London, a few of us from the UK organised a boat trip up the river Thames for all the Dears coming from 46 different countries for his concert. Sveta (Dimash’s mother) and his sister Raushan came too to everyone’s surprise. Sveta talked of how they consider all the Dears as ‘family’ and sang spontaneously for us with the lights of London shining behind her - an unforgettable moment 💕💕 🇬🇧

I love that he has such respect for his audience that he takes the time to learn songs of the host countries. Learning lyrics in a foreign language and mastering the pronunciation is not an easy thing.

Even more amazing when you know he prepared it the night before the concert. That is why there is only piano. He was reading the lyrics a little on the screen. 😉

Moreover, he is singing almost without any accent! Just a slight difference in a sound "g". Ukrainians pronounced it like "h". Amazing! Talented Dimash is talented in everything!

Yes, I am Taiwanese, Dimash can sing Chinses in short time notice, and he learn it so well, he pronounce perfect, I think he is genius, and I love him so much, I am 64, my husband and my kids, can not even speak a good sentence in Chinese though.

You should see the older performance "Dearest Mother", where Dimash sings with both his parents. The song was written by Dimash's father for his grandmother who was in the audience. Hearing his parents sing together is sort of like hearing Dimash's chest voice and head voice singing together.

My love, when you started crying, I started to cry too. I have listened to all of his songs for so many times, and every time I feel so much. But this song...it's just something else. Maybe it's the rawness of the vocals with only a piano. Or the words, which many of us can relate to. Or the sheer emotion in his voice, telling us a story with every syllable. I'm grateful for getting to hear this, and I am also happy that you got to hear this. I wish you many comforting times with his music.

Dimash’s mom is an opera soprano and often performed with Dimash’s dad, Kanat on national TV shows. Dimash loves his parents very much. This Ukrainian folk song is so tender and a bit melancholy, and just the gesture of Dimash encouraging everyone to sing along was so wonderful. His mom was fighting not to cry, but couldn’t hold back her tears. Beautifully done. ❤ for Dimash.

Dimash learned this famous Ukrainian folk song in Ukranian for his audience just the night before the concert. Such dedication. They love him in the Ukraine after he performed there 8 years previously as a teenager in a singing contest where he of course won the very prestigious award 💖

And at the end the audience stood up and was applauding to his mother. Then Dimash asked his father to come up and the audience was applauding to his parents. The attitude that Dimash has not only to his relatives but to other people as well admires me.

This song doesn't get reviewed much by KZbin reactors, so far as I have been able to see. There are no fireworks, no jaw-dropping moments, no extreme demonstrations of vocal agility, it all happens within a restricted range, it's a quiet song. And yet it is also Dimash at his best. His total control over his voice is there. His voice conveys fragility, evoking his childhood dependence on his mother, his family. All is still and quiet in the theater as he mesmerizes the audience... and then invites their participation. With his voice, he casts his mood over the audience like a magical spell. This is one reason I much prefer Dimash's live performances. On the stage, he is not singing to himself, nor to an inanimate mic or camera. He is singing to people. The audience is necessary. In a studio session or music video, it's just not the same. A mother's task is to enable those who depend on her, to empower them, to raise them to confident adulthood. Can we suggest that Dimash's mom did a pretty good job of it? I think we can.

Greetings from Ukraine. Indeed, this is one of the most popular and most famous Ukrainian folk songs. Most Ukrainians know her well. This song conveys love and tenderness to the dearest person in our lives. Especially when we are separated by time and distance. The song also encourages to appreciate your mother for life, and not to rebuke yourself for spending little time with her when she is gone. Personally, I love this song. And I was very surprised when I heard that Dimash was singing it. Simply and sincerely without their tricks. And your reaction says that you are also a sincere and open person, because even without understanding the language of the original, you were imbued with the feelings that this song carried. I really like your channel and your bright smile.

This is a very well-known folk song. I first heard it over 50 years ago when. I was invited to a Russian-American wedding reception. The bride started it as a tribute to her grandmother, but every Russian and Russian-American in the hall knew it by heart. It was a tender, heart-wrenching moment. By the way, those initial slides you refer to seem to a standard element in Russian folk singing. They also added them at that reception.

Elizabeth, I lost my Mom just over a year ago at the age of 93. Those who knew her, referred to her as a ''Mother Bear''! She was fiercely protective of her loving Sons. I too fought back the tears, unsuccessfully, listening to Dimash sing to his Mom & to the Ukrainian audience. By the Way, my Mom's name was Elizabeth as well.
