Admit it Regine's last note is out of this world a very powerful clear word "FLY" with perfect pitch and tone + perfect vibratto. Other belters can do that but in a way of mixed voice where you can't understand the word.

Hello Carl. Lovely reaction. Regine is easily Philippine's finest. She is the most decorated Filipino Artist in history. Dubbed as Asia's Songbird, she has been praised superlatively by many International Musicians and Artists all accross the globe. Profiled as Lyric Soprano C with Coloratura, she had been offered by reknowned musical producers of Miss Saigon Cameron Mackintosh to train in London for a lead role that she declined as she was too young back then and that she didnt really see herself a cut in musicals. 2 decades later she had collaborated with Michel Legrand a Tony Emmy and Academy Award musician in a 3 night musical special. OM goodness! This analysis is great! You cN really appreciate the mastery of her delivery. FYI, she’s the only artist I know who never wears an earpiece. Everytime she sings, she listens to her own sound, she never gets lost in the orchestra. In her interview, she told that earpiece makes her feel alone on stage.

Re: your question “I wonder what she was thinking right before that last note.” So she says in one interview that she just goes for it and doesn’t really fret if her voice cracks. One would think that she’s just saying a cliche, but she may actually be telling the truth about her approach: after she gave birth and a penchant for drinking soda at every meal which has caused an on-again-off-again acid reflux - her fans refer to acid reflux unendearingly as AR to shorten their thumbtyping - she’s had a few performances when her high notes would sound raspy or completely crack. She always went for the high note and never chickened out. A lot of us fans would always be amazed at her ability, especially when we knew that she was suffering from AR on that night. We would clasp our hands right before those high notes. she’s always hit those notes and throw in a couple of belts unexpectedly. What we love about her is that when we pay money to go to her concerts, you get you money’s worth. She’snever pulled off a Mariah Careyesque “let’s avoid singing the high notes by changing the melody or let your back up singers do the high notes or let’s have a safety net prerecorded vocals to punch in when I stop singing”. But I digress. She says that she rehearses quite a bit to the point of muscle memory. So to answer your question, I think she isn’t too worried about it and just goes for it. Her skill just takes her through each high note with success. I think if she did worry about it every time, she’d have ulcers right now given how many times she’s hit high notes live. Also in the same interview she did admit that she’s always looked forward to singing the high notes; she said that she’s always incorporated those belty notes because she would get bored if she sang without the high notes

Nonstop Goosebumps start at minute 6:46 ! It's the combination of an amazingly written song with an amazing vocalist! You can't beat it! This is my favorite version of Regines cover of this song no doubt. I also love Morissettes voice on this song as well. disclaimer before I continue :(I have been consistently open about my love for both artists with proof going back a year and a half in various videos, so please don't take my mentioning Mori as any kind of disrespect to Regine at all) Carl has a respect for both artists so I mentioned that she covers it for that purpose only.

I love how you react with videos because you see and hear differences like what you did with the first video of Regine vs. Mariah. Hi Carl, this is what we were talking about! Yes, it's our favourite version. I admit that the other one had better visuals. But lacked the triple crescendo. Tho I prefer the grand piano more in this video. I thought that the cameraman was a little bit drunk lol. He was all over the place. Yeah, I think it was a vhs recording too, as it was pretty hazy.
