Um... that's very nice of you to suggest that it has unlimited potential but in reality my singing is not something I'd inflict on my worst enemy. There's a reason why I only sing to myself and I usually have back up noise or KZbin to drown my actual voice out. I don't want to make my ears bleed.

I'd highly suggest another song of hers, from the same show but one year prior when Diana was 14 years old: 'Rechenka' It's a russian folk song about on orphan girl who was going to marry, but due to a lack of family (and friends) there was no one to see her off (an ancient east slavic tradition before a wedding, somewhere between mourning for the loss of a daughter and celebration for the beginning of a new life as a wife. Or smth like that). So, she goes to a river ('rechenka' in russian language) in the forest, where she pleads to her 'friends' (the river, trees, animals, spirits, ect) to take the role of family and friends. She herself completely becomes the character of the girl in that performance (she is a natural performer on stage), to the point that even the judges were so mezmerized they seemed to have forgotten that they had to press their buttons and totally jumped at it, when they thought the song was over.

Diana suffered unbelievable abuse as a child. She was found wondering in the snow with a broken rib. I think she was the only surviving child, all the others died. She was adopted from an orphanage and didn't speak until after she was 5. Singing helped find her voice and she adores her adopted mother. For me, her voice is like the primordial cry, the vibrations almost like throat singing at times, vibrate down through your soul. Your description of being wrapped in velvet was great. Her voice is like no other and I hope for her all goodness.

Liz Rach goes without saying: thumbs as low as they go for abuse that leaves someone in that place. Unbelievable she is where she is giving what she is giving. Obviously an older performance, but more enjoyable with every subsequent performance. This quality of voice taps into something before my ancestors. To me it’s the opposite of otherworldly. Is “primal-pop” a genre?

I don't think that the girl went for a walk herself, her drunk mother simply abandoned her child or lost her. She almost killed her! It's a miracle that Diana survived. And yes, she really had big problems with speech until the pediatrician recommended visiting a vocal coach to correct her speech.

Diana had a rough start in life. Her alcoholic mother did not want her and abused and neglected her. She was abandoned at 3 years old. A relative found her and took her to an orphanage. A worker at the orphanage adopted her, and because she could not speak, sent her to a vocal teacher where she was taught to sing, so she could learn to speak. Now look at her!!! She is 15 years old at this competition for orphaned children. She won the competition two years in a row. The competition is called 'You are Super'. She is from eastern Russia, but now lives in Moscow, thanks to Igor (bald judge).

Diana was 13 or 14 when she sang in this competition. It was a singing competition for 'underprivileged children' and Diana was abused and left an orphan at an early age. A family took her in and she started singing lessons to overcome her shyness. She is a true contralto, but is working on her higher notes. The world famous Igor Krutoy became interested in her talent. I believe she is now 17. This is quite an introduction to Diana, and great reaction from you. Thanks. (Patricia, Jerry's wife)

This is a talent show. There is no autotuned. That is Diana Voice. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover.. Wait until you hear "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. Her Russian fans are the BEST!

It was a masterpiece, a tour de force, some say the best yodeling performance in the history of videos showcasing yodeling, but in this performance it wasn’t just her amazing yodeling but also her body movement and stage presence and incredible as this might sound ( and I’ll shortly explain the reason why) but NOT ONE CHAIR TURNED!!!! After the song was finished and the judges turned around , the audience interrupted what they were saying by giving Diana a 5 minute STANDING OVATION. After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face with both hands in utter shock , disbelief and SHAME. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE and one of the worse scandals in Russian talent contest history. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice and revealing how corrupt this Russian kids show was at the time. And the following days over 80 million who watched the contest when posted on KZbin spit on the judges. But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests in two consecutive years but 60 more awards and contests. Please ( when you get the chance) I BEG of you to at least privately react by YouTubing “ Diana Ankudinova yodeling”. And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece and if you stay to near the end of the judges commentary ( making excuses and lying) you will hear a brief portion of the French song the judges asked her to sing that she NAILED! And there is a video of her outside a mall at age 11 singing this same French song but the complete version and she KILLED IT!!!! And when you’re convinced that she’s one of the best female vocalist in the world ( like millions of others including myself) you may want to react to a couple of her newer songs: ( she just turned 17 the other day) like “by your voice”. I promise you if you continue to publicly react to Diana ( “Rechenka,” “Human” , “Wicked Game”, “Yodeling”...your subscriber base will go through the roof!!!! She’s now almost as popular as the great male pop-op vocalist Dimash. And has her own Facebook fan club. And rumor has Diana and Dimash will perform together one day in the not-to-distant future and when it happens I can assure you when the upcoming concert is announced, it will be SOLD OUT in less than 20 minutes. ( 40,000 screaming fans.) And if I could, I would mortgage my house my kids ( just kiddin) my everything to watch them perform together in concert. It is a tv show - the voice kind, for non privilaged children. No autotune, this is her real voice, just turned 17 and she is working on her high notes with great results. As a child she was abused and was adopted by an orphanage worker. Vocal lessons were suggested as she was non verbal child ( I think this is the term). First playing with her voice, than speaking, imagine that!!!! I really enjoyed your reaction, I would apreciate more of Diana songs reaction! Greetings from GR

I think the riffs are reflective of the cultural music from her country of origin. She definitely has Indigenous traits in her physical appearance similar to the Inuvialuit of Canadas Arctic. Story telling has various dynamics to it also.

Добра вам. Вы правы. Я тоже родился и вырос в Сибири. Я знаю много людей с внешностью как у Дианы. У Дианы не чистая славянская кровь. Она рождена в Приморье. Это самый Дальний Восток России. Коренное население здесь называют остяки. От слова ость - базис. Эти народы по внешнему виду и по генетике сходны с Северо-Американскими коренными жителями. Диана выросла в приемной семье. Ее родная мать была алкоголичка и вела неправильный образ жизни. Из 12 беременностей выжила лишь Диана. Кто отец Дианы не знает никто. Возможно он представитель северо-восточных народов России. Ее в 3 года забрали у матери, она росла в детском доме до 4,5 лет. Позже ее усыновила медицинская сестра детского санатория. Это со слов Дианы и ее нынешней Матери из интервью. Диана считает себя русской так как выросла в русской среде. Что касается особенности подачи материала в драматическом ключе, это объясняется нашей особенностью к драматизации любой музыки вообще. Считается, что это особенность национальной русской культуры. И если вы нашли нечто общее с канадскими индейцами, то возможно их духовная составляющая в творчестве так же культивируется. Her "Rechenka" performance is even more mesmerizing! I never knew how rare a contralto voice was until I heard her sweet soft bass timbre! Excellent honest astonishment in your reaction!

Being an avid fan of Diana's art, I really appreciate you pointing out that Diana's voice in this performance is processed. Yes, it is processed. It is most probably autotuned / pitch corrected in some extent. Most of Diana fans get furious about it when a reactioner talks about this. You are an honest man and you don't refrain from stating the facts. But of course no processing can diminish the fact that she has a great, unique timbre and great vocal skills.
