The window in the piano is a new style lyrics monitor. Elton has used a lyrics monitor for years and it also prompts him on the piano chords. He can play totally by ear so the chord prompts keep him from straying away from the way he rehearsed with the band.

I felt the brass and backup singers drowned out the piano and vocals. It was also written as a duet. He had never sung it live solo.

I love your honesty about not understanding what he's singing... I don't know what the hell he says sometimes either but I find it amusing so I just enjoy it with a laugh. However, Elton became sober completely in 1990, and his voice was incredible shape throughout the years since. He's had 30 years to detox the drugs from his system and focus on singing sober, therefore I just think the struggling to sing has to do with his older age, fatigue and some weight gain. He hits almost all the notes in exact pitch still which is quite impressive and more important for the music, anyway. He's doing great for 75, or 73 I think here.

I have seen a couple 'vocal coaches' react to Elton John, but invariably they choose to 'react' to a live performance, often outdoors, with him in his late 60s or 70s and then compare him to young singers or older ones in a completely controlled indoor environment. Why is that?

You didn't get what was he saying? The same here. Lol I feel relieved. In some way because english is my second language and I couldn't understand some of the lyrics. However, is a very good song for dancing.

Who the hell do you think you are!!! Elton John is one of the greatest performers in the world. He has a unique voice, especially when he was younger. How dare you criticize his singing. He is 72 years old. I doubt if you will be even able to sing when you reach his age. He has played thousands of concerts over the years, so his voice has become deeper, also because he had surgery many years ago. Don't talk about a truly great legendary performer as such. If you can't hear the words, I suggest you look them up.

Yes exactly! He has no respect for this legend. Glad that I got to see elton live last year on his farewell tour.
