You can tell Elton John just loves and enjoys music, and just wants to have fun when he is performing. A true musician. A legend!

That's honestly what I look for in any performance. Is the artist engaged, natural, relaxed, do they allow themselves to be completely absorbed by what they're doing? There are few things more beautiful than that.

This guy would spend the whole video telling you all of the things that are wrong with Bowie's voice. He has no concept of originality, if it isn't exactly pitch perfect, then to him it is worthy of his esteemed criticism. Thankfully singers like Bowie, Elton, Mick Jagger, Roger Daltrey, Jim Morrison didn't train as musical theatre artists and brought real passion to their live performances. If this pompous fool had just 1% of their talent, then just maybe his opinion would be worth listening to.

I totally agree! I really like Taron in Sing because it sounds more natural and Tarony. I've really enjoyed watching him grow as a performer and branch into these musical roles. On that note, I think more "Actors Who Can Sing" would be a neat topic! It relates to the "amateur not professional" vibe you got in some vids, but also matches the "I wanna watch popular stuff" thing, too. Personally, I think Reese Witherspoon & Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line are great (though more imitation), though Reese has done other musicy things. I'm sure there's TONS more option, so it could be a mini-series!

Going into watching his video and having seen Taron in the Kingsman movies, etc, I already know that is how he talks, just not opening his mouth very much. If it’s because of his Welsh accent and/or just how he speaks. But it’s not a surprise to me. I’ve read other comments and yeah, maybe he’s trying to sound a bit more like Elton coming off or Rocketman and singing an Elton song WITH Elton. Watching Kingsman 1&2 will make a lot of sense. Example and paraphrasing in the second Kingsman “my crow is looking for somewhere to nest.” I know he’s smirking a bit but it’s a great example how he just doesn’t open his mouth to much to speak.

I've heard Taron (Egerton pronounced with a soft g, btw) say he was incredibly nervous here so I think considering that fact he did amazing. I think this was the first time Elton asked him to perform with him, the year before Rocketman came out. I was obsessed with Rocketman last year, it was so great and criminally underrated. Elton specifically told Taron he didn't want him to try to imitate him, he wanted him to bring his own thing into it. So I think for the most part he wasn't trying to do an impression of Elton, though I imagine it was inevitable he'd go that way a little.

Diana Ankudinova . who many coaches, professional vocalists, and Reactors around the globe consider in possession of the most unique mesmerizing memorable amazing atavistic tribunal primordial shaman goddess voice in the world -any age. At age 14 her incredible and legendary performance of an old ritual wedding folk song titled “ rechenka” ( River in English) Is -to this day-considered by many professional vocalists and coaches around the world as the most unique and mesmerizing live performance by a vocalist -any age , in the history of Russian talent shows. And along with “ Human” ( lowest possible female notes she’s a rare dramatic contralto ) and “ Wicked Game” that you reacted to contributed to her winning not only the kids “ you are super” contest for orphans and adopted children 2 consecutive years but catapulted her to international fame with millions of avid followers worldwide. And Famous composer Igor has written songs specifically for her. And you might want to read a little about her tragic younger years abused and beaten by her birth mother and put up for adoption at age 3. You may want to continue your Ankudinova journey by reacting the year prior to “ rechenka” when she was 13! She entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling. It was a masterpiece, a tour de force, some say one of the best yodeling performances on any talent show but in this performance it was the controversial aftermath that prompted the audience to give her a 5 minute Standing Ovation. And at 13 her rendition of “ Me Voy” in Spanish. Heartfelt and brings tears. And the following year and year thereafter she won not only the 2 “ you are super” Russian contests but 40 more awards and contests. After reacting to Rechenka and Wicked Game and Human Please react to “ yodel time” And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece. Some recent songs ( she’s 17) worth reacting to are “by your voice” “ Wave” and a masterpiece titled “Tomorrow is a lie” ( 4.26 one posted by HTB with Igor at the Piano. (c)al fogel

Hi Sam. I would like to suggest that you react to the performance of Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga at the VMA (Video Music Awards) that happened before yesterday. The performance is incredible, the vocals of both are wonderful, I think you will love it. Thank you. 🙏🏼👊🏾

I love your reactions, it’s my go to for when I want to understand how singers do the things they do. I’m hoping you get around to doing Tatiana’s one take of Jinjer judgement and punishment. I’d really love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Keep making great reactions.

Yo, but can we have like, a million, of movie actors in contrast with the real singers? That would be fascinating, just how they try to imitate or not and why that is or when the acting or singing is taking the spotlight? IDK. (and it might skip the whole 'yup, good singer, good song, little to say' vibe you don't want :P)

Love this one! Elton is a genius both in writing and playing music. Would you do a video on Tori Amos, specifically any of her live performances you can find. She is AMAZING! She has such a weird but beautiful way of singing words, and her playing dual pianos live is just mesmerizing. Thanks!

Sam could you analyze a performance of Elton John before his vocal problems?

I've not seen or really researched if Taron has had any or much vocal training. He has been primarily seen as an actor and not a singer. Not sure if he is even trying to pursue a singing career.
