Havent heard this song since it was popular. I think watching this gave me a new appreciation for it. Its such a well constructed rock song. Obviously amazing vocals from Amy. Very consistent and coherent vibe. Great buildup. Background vocals in the chorus are perfect. Rap break and bridge are both great. Also its crazy that most of the performance sounds almost identical to the studio recording. Making all the little deviations all the more juicy.

2003 to now. It's not even close. She can sing rings around the old Amy now. Her voice is a touch deeper giving her a less airy sound if that makes sense. And live it's not even close. She light years better now. Still silly hot not matter the year thou:) But most singers to get a bit better as they age. Not all of course but most. Amy would be one of the biggest. The difference is night and day. I thought she was good back then. I'd love her to go back and do every song with the same arrangements with her voice now. It would be epic.

When this song came out, it was the best thing I had heard in about five years and it was all over the airwaves where I was at. Evanescence came out of Little Rock, Arkansas and I was living in Memphis, Tennessee, about 150 miles east. Since Little Rock isn’t really a music Mecca and Memphis is, Evanescence made sure that they got tremendous airplay there, so we heard this song even more than the rest of the country. I think Amy is the second best female rock singer ever, and it took about 22 years for her to appear after the best singer first appeared. In 1979, Pat Benatar shocked everyone with her ability. She got a lot more pop oriented later in her career, but her first three albums established her as THE best rock frontwoman ever. I love Amy and, obviously, so do you. But, since you like strong female rock vocalists, why not check out the best. Now if others made suggestions, they might ask you to check out Heartbreaker, or Hit Me With Your Best Shot. I would even mention Hell is for Children (Her anti-child abuse song that is severely underrated) Promises in the Dark, Fire and Ice and Precious Time, and they would all be great for you to review. But…….I have two lesser known songs I wish you would check out, Don’t Let it Show, and Wuthering Heights. That last one, especially, you get to appreciate her ridiculous range. I think you might enjoy them.

I’m a HUGE Amy Lee/Evanescence fan. Like you it reminds me on my youth (so early 30’s now? Haha). I’ve been to 10 Evanescence concerts, 8 were front row. I joined their fan club & got to watch the band rehearse in 2011/12 & meet all of them. Amy was so humble (after years of success) as if she was a new artist she seemed almost embarrassed at my flattery. When we took pictures I (wanting to respect her) said “can I put my arm around your shoulder (side hug). She grinned real big, grabbed my hand and placed it around her waist! Lol Amy is so petite in person I didn’t realize I was practically resting my hand on her stomach lol. The other guys were so cool too. During autographs I wanted them to sign a grey T-shirt but all they had were silver markers. Tim McCord had a roadie go hunt down a black sharpie marker just for me, just so they could sign my T-shirt. People get nervous meeting their “heroes” or people they admire. Amy was every bit as sweet & down to earth (If not more-so that I expected). This video is super old when Rocky was in the band. Last year they toured with a FULL orchestra! ☺️☺️☺️

Amy Lee is honestly my all time favorite Rock/Metal female vocalist! Major respect for her pitch control as well. Only way to really tell that she's not lip synching to the album version is the intro, and a few notes she clips a bit short. Otherwise it's perfect. There are plenty of good singers that have a hell of a time doing that on stage trying to match what you're hearing through a monitor while a couple zillion decibels of amplified noise crash all around you. But yeah, whether you like her style of music of not, she's really good.

I love your reaction video, you are so detail in analysing the skill and techniques used by the Singer. Hua Chenyu is one of the current top Chinese Singer in China Mainland. He is able to manage many different styles of songs. Singer 2018 has allowed him to showcase his capabilities because he has to compete with many other artists. He has proven his creativity and abilities in rearranging and composing of songs. The wonderful part of him is he sing very well too. Please do reaction videos on “Ordinary Path" he presented in Singer 2018.

Wow that's really one of my favorite! "Ordinary Path" was rearranged by Hua Chenyu in SINGER 2018. It's such a beautiful and emotional performence which was highly acclaimed and got lots of hits in KZbin.😄

"Ordinary path" is full of emotion and inspiration, the favorites part is the harmony part, no need lyrics but meaningful. His strong vocal can simply hit the high note.high & long enough, very powerful

All Im saying is you need to listen to Killswitch Engage during the Howard Jones era! That is probably one of the most amazing voices in metal in recent years. He is a beast!! Especially live, he is incredibly amazing. His voice control, his singing, his screams his projection... is just amazing!!

I’m here in Columbus, Ohio, his home town, and when I heard The End of Heartache (Especially the version from the Resident Evil soundtrack) I realized how awesome he is. He is kind of like Chris Cornell in that he has a wonderful smooth singing voice, but he can scream and growl with the best of them. He is a real talent.
