The cast has talked about how they sang the songs live for a lot of the recordings (don’t know if it was all), so even if they dubbed in their studio recording, you’re still watching them sing it ‘live’. I think it’s part of what made Glee so special, because it felt more like the real thing

I'll never understand the whole concept that Lea Michele should be forever punished for past behaviour. I wasn't in the room for any of it, I really doubt every single instance was one-sided, but either way... who am I to judge her indefinitely? Men do these things all the time, look at Christian Bale, they have a bumpy interlude and then continue on working just fine. It's such a double standard. All I know is that if we don't allow people the opportunity to be better... how can they actually become better? I hope Lea has grown as a person... and if so, I wish Lea much success.
@sgtmian2 жыл бұрын
has she even been punished, though? she’s still working, getting parts most people can forget ever getting. being called out for doing shitty things isn’t a punishment. i do hope she has changed. for the people who have to work with her.
@anomalysakawendy50962 жыл бұрын
I was talking about the concept of... meaning the mindset of... being forever punished. As in, half the folks view her as a monster who should just never work again. I don't see anyone saying that someone like Christian Bale shouldn't get jobs again, in fact he gets big ones... he was notoriously difficult and demeaning in his past. All I know is that I can't judge her *now*, unless there's more than old stories.

What confuses me is the amount of online sympathy towards Mark Salling compared to the extreme hate towards Lea. Mark admitted to his horrendous crimes and took his life before his hundreds (maybe thousands) of victims could get justice. But still fans of the show grieve his death and forgive him. Yet Lea is treated like the devil. She was terrible to at least some of her cast mates, but she was also in an environment where nobody stopped her and often her diva attitude was lauded at the time. Lea is not solely to blame. And quite frankly you have to wonder what was going on for a show to have that many controversies. Because it isn't limited to Lea at all.
@Bowiebonolennon1982 Жыл бұрын
Jealousy. Dude. I wish I had her talent. But I'm certainly not going to fault her on things other people (mostly women) say about her. Mark was a pervert. And shouldn't even be regarded... like the creeps among him... Stephen Collins, R. Kelly...

I genuinely think that her awful attitude during Glee was due to Cory's death. She was always a diva, but his death destroyed her. ( Just listen to If You Say So ) We all know that grief can make a person do awful things. Ofcurse I dont support things that she've done in her past, but I believe that people grow and change, let's move on. Remember Streisand did this live on her 1965 TV Show and it was after the Beatles were all anybody talked about.......until this funny looking cross-eyed odd sexey Women of 23 killed it. I don't know what happened there, so not for me to say. My only thought here is, I wish Lea would sing her own songs - new songs - and not keep doing Barbra. And by taking on this Broadway gig, she is continuing to do this. Of course, I know this has been her dream for so many years. But she is very talented and I wish she'd go in another direction and do a NEW show with new songs and put her own mark on them.
@GA-fn8hr2 жыл бұрын
Why can't she do both? She had done her own music and she is being given a chance to do Funny Girl. Due to those stories no one is gonna to give her a new show unless she can prove she has changed. Ya know, the gossip, talk about Michelle I cannot help think is overblown and here are my reasons. 1. Those who kvetched about her, pretty much, began and ended their careers with Glee. 2. If all they said was true, I cannot believe that Ryan Murphy would have kept her on or, at least, disciplined her. 3. Most of the behavior that her former cast mates refer to happened AFTER the death of her fiancé and co star on the show and in real life. 4. None of the adult cast members ever talked about her as the younger, now unemployed (except for Amber Riley....) cast mates, did. 5. She was the lead in Glee and had all the experience on Broadway, already and the show revolved around her. Maybe some jealousy or resentment from the others? I could go on, but won't. As far as Funny Girl, yes, Feldstein is a good singer and actor but simply not for that role which will forever be compared to Streisand. Feldstein would be great for a Sondheim show...Michelle, not so much. Feldstein, we know now, got the role through nepotism as her dad is a producer. Not a good thing as now his daughter is bereft and everyone is talking about her. I hope, really hope that Michelle, when she premieres next month, is received as if none of the back stories, either about her or about the show, itself....happened. I hope she is reviewed, appreciated or not appreciated simply for the work she is doing. We know she can sing it. We don't know if she can be a comic. However, almost the entire show rides on her voice which, for Feldstein, was not a blessing but for Michelle, a challenge I feel she will rise to. Amen!

I agree with you. I think it’s time that the world move on from 2020. It’s 2022-2023, everything else has moved on so why can’t the gossip around this talented woman? If what she did was real, I do not condone it, nor would I ever condone it and I do hope she has learned a lesson or two from it, however, Lea is a talented individual who deserves her chance to shine and show the haters and the trolls online that she can be Fanny. She can be Barbra.
