This is such a fantastically composed song. So interesting, creative and creepy. The video is a mishmash of scenes from the "Imaginaerum" movie and a live performance, and was really edited well. As to describe your Nightwish reactions, maybe fanboi? 🤔 (Me too!)

I watched it for the first time a couple of days ago. Enjoyed it a lot. It was interesting to see the scenes in the actual context of the film, too. The band also appears performing Slow Love Slow, and you really see Annette's range as she is really sultry in that one. Her voice has a childlike cadence in some songs (not a criticism. Its still a nice voice and it works for this song and Storytime*) but she can go into a whole different mode for the slower songs. *While I think Floor's full womanly belting of Storytime works well in live concert, I thought that background melody with Annette singing in that flying scene in the movie worked better, since it literally involves the POV of a child.

You should really react to what I call the "Holy Trinity of Planet Hell." Planet Hell is a song from the Tarja-era but has been covered by all three singers and all three of them SHINE in their own ways. Its a really great showcase of their different strengths.

i strongly agree with this. Glad someone suggested it. That song specificaly is great to showcase the strong points of each singer. And i find it really satisfying to see (hear) how the different arrangements were cleverly done to match each performer.

I never appreciated Annette at the time because I - like most fans - just wanted Tarja back. Now that Floor has come along and eclipsed them both, it's easier to go back and look at the Annette stuff objectively. I'm not always the biggest fan of her voice, but if you look at my top 10 Nightwish songs, half of them are ones she originally sung. So while she'll never compare to Tarja or especially Floor, I think having a different kind of voice to work with really brought out the best in Tuomas. I can appreciate her for that at least, and I can acknowledge that she's a good singer in her own right, even if she's not a good Nightwish singer.

This. Though Annette was technically the least talented of the three (which is not to say she isn't extremely talented, she is), most of my favorite songs are from her era. Imaginaerum is, for me, the best album they've ever put out.

This is one of my favourite Anette Nightwish songs. Anette and Marko sound wonderful together. The live version is better. Anette put the naysayers in their place about her live singing. My suggestion for a Halloween song is Wolf & Raven Sonata Arctica.

Anette would be a great Mainstream Pop Singer, but as a replacement for Tarja its the worst choice Nightwish ever made, in my opinion, sorry.
