This is actually a rare video recording from when she was writing the song. It is in a house because Tobias Jesso Jr (the guy playing piano) who co-wrote it, prefers to write in the house instead of studio, so she had to record everything on her laptop, and this is where this video from. Her voice sounds healthier than ever! And she said in an interview that she won't perform this song live not because the vocals in it are super hard, the reason is the emotions that this song brings to Adele, she said that she was having her son allready 30 yo before her eyees while singing this song. She told that she would have to leave the room if someone would play this song. She can't listen to it.

One of the many things I love about Adele is how she always somehow remains humble about her voice. And as a non-singer, I loved your breakdown at the end of that off-note!

This recording was actually her demo that she recorded from her laptop mic (and built in mics aren't that good lol) which she sent to the cowriter. This will probably go down as one of her best ever songs though - and I can see this being used A LOT commercially in film and tv.

@@frankiewarren4082 Amy Winehouse was good ( but, only at singing in one way) Everything Amy sang, sounded the same. I listened and listened, and.most often, couldn't make out the words of her songs. She was failed by her friends/ management and ( I hate to say) her family. Her life was a real life tragedy, and, her last live performance should never have happened. A great " jazzy" singer, but, that was what she did!! Adele has the power in her voice, to change the way she sings, and, to release 19 , 21, 25 and 30 ( all very different songs/ sounds. ) I think she's the best contemporary female singer of the last 12 to 15 years.
