This performance was done very early in her performing career. She said at the time she was basically terrified about this performance at this event. She rose above it and all three songs (one cover and two originals) knocked it out of the park! She understands she has a message for those who will listen. She is as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. Her art rips you apart and heals you at the same time! Who does that? It is almost too intense to bear, but you can't look away. She is a siren in the form of a wood nymph. Resistance is futile. And Beth is correct. Aurora is very socially conscious and a great role model. She ultimately only cares about creating. When initially approached about becoming a recording artist she declined. She never intended it to be a profession. She did it for herself as a way to process her feelings about what she experienced and/or saw others experiencing. Her family had not known she had this gift and her mother said Aurora's songs moved her deeply and convinced Aurora she should share her art with the world if it could help others. Aurora reconsidered even though she is a very private person and had no desire to become famous. She is very empahetic and it looks like it opened her up to being more comfortable around people. I hope she can keep that balance between her personal life and her professional life. If anyone can I think she can. I think she knows where that line is and how precious maintaining that healthy balance is.

Brilliantly explained. I wanted to add that her mother told her that her music was like medicine to her and that, besides what you mentioned, is why she decided to share it with us.

I always feel like I'm not supposed to be there when I hear her sing. It always feels so personal with her. And, damnit, I cry everytime I witness it. Her quality makes me think of gymnasts doing a floor routine. Vocally tumbling and spinning, building up tons of energy and then bam! tumbling run is over so she slows down before she hits another pass. And always the sadness at the end.

Aurora wrote that song at age 11, she is an incredible songwriter, writing a sticky song (a song that stayed in your head after you hear her singing) at that young age, many songwriters aim to have a sticky song in their career, she did it at 11. By the way, I am a 62 years old man and a big fan of Aurora.

Strange you mentioned "1000s years ago".. She grew up as a neighbour to Lyse Kloster (monastary) in the middle age called "Coenobium Vallis Lucidae." Build and inhabited by english cisterciensermonks 1146-1536. Its a big area and was Auroras playground and also contains a story of a ghost whos haunting the area "The White Lady". During the reformation in 1536 king commanded the monastary demolished and the stones from there is now the foundation of Kronborg Castle in Denmark.. Good reaction and and love that you love her.. Thumb up.

I love that you made this Aurora reaction. I watched many reactions of other artist on your channel before (f.e. The Hu and many more) and hoped you will also react to Aurora too. I discovered Aurora this year and this is my favorite artist now - I am very fascinated by her music :). She is very unique and interesting artist and I think her very important characteristic is how much she is "in" performances and how she is able to pass emotions in music. Of course on top of it is great voice and lyrics. As far O know she has natural talent, not trained. She is also a songwriter, not only singer. She started making music from 6 years old and many of her songs comes from the time she was 9-12 years old when she learned English enough to write lyrics (f.e. song "Lucky" she made mostly when she was 9 years old). She was making music "in hiding" and started career accidentally when someone recorded her performance in school any upload on internet. Then someone from music industry contacted her, and she said no at first, but mother arguments changed her mind :).

You know, Aurora was 19 years old when she sang this song on the Nobel stage, even though she wrote it when she was 11. She is now 25. She’s one of those people who will always look younger than she really is. Her music may appeal to younger age groups, but she is too complex for that and her writing and arrangement are appreciated by fans from late teens to over 75.

In my opinion what makes your reactions outstanding in comparison to other channels is that you show and don’t just tell with some fancy words what the artist is doing with their voice. Like here when you demonstrated how „running“ would have sounded if Aurora sang it differently. Or when you demonstrated for which syllable she did switch registers at the phrase “waiting impatiently” For me as a non singer its often not obvious what conscious decisions there are in the singing of a phrase.

Aurora is so amazing! ☺️ If you want to discover other talented Norwegian artists I would recomand: Highasakite - Samurai Sword (aucustic) Ina Wroldsen - St. Peter Emilie Nicolas - I Feel fine (live session)

She reminds me of Florence and the Machine in terms of emotion and story telling through song. Florence is phenomenal, as is Aurora ❤️ Love them both! X

Love Aurora and your reaction helped me appeciate her even more! I hope you soon will start doing some reactions to Angelina Jordan!!! I suggest starting with Summertime when she was 7 years old in Norway's Got Talent, and then Bohemian Rhapsody when she was 13. In between two real gems are "I Put a Spell On You" at age 9 or 10, (Black and White rehearsal video), and "Feeling Good" (the one inside, age age 11)

I don't know her music hardly at all, but I love the title of an article (interview) by W Magazine: "Meet Aurora, the Mythical Lovechild of Björk and Grimes." Ha! As soon as I first heard her, Björk was the first comparison that came to mind.

Absolutely a good reaction of an excellent performance. It give us hope of the future seeing the young generation the vocal to the center in an artistic way. I’d like to hear your view also do an other amazing Norwegian girl, Angelina Jordan very special cover of Billie Jean.

Iam glad that she get the attantion she deserve. The young people need musicians like her or AMH Adam and the Metal Hawks. Without stuff like this brilliant young artists, music of talent in quality will completely drift to the underground. charts havent been that unlistenable like today, ever befor!

Love her music, but fun fact: Aurora is a metal head. It would be so cool so see her do a collaboration with a metal band.
