Full album is blocked, again, by KZbin. I might chop it up and re-upload it but it's probably not worth the hassle. I do have it uploaded to my Patreon though! In the future, I will be sure to include a chatbox on my live stream video recordings so you don't have to watch me cringingly argue with a non-existent chat. If enough people want it I can re-upload it with the KZbin chat box visible since it makes the video more fun. It's up there though if you want to see it! www.patreon.com/tristanparedes

I personally like that she belts very rarely, because when she does it makes it interesting and surprising. My dad was told as a young musician to hold back what you show to the world, and leave people wanting more, because if you show all that you’re capable of too soon, there is not much left to give and show. I think that’s what Billie is doing and I think it’s extremely clever for maintaining interest and relevance in this kind of industry.

Hm I agree. And it’s mostly the singers with unique voices and not powerhouses. When someone belts all the time, it’s not surprising. But when a singer rarely goes to that high/low register or belts then it’s surprising since it hasn’t been shown.

She's usually so controlled and cryptic or cool and slick, that her just letting that RAW emotion out with the diaristic lyrics just makes it so cathartic. It's like the first half she's doing her usual thing and then the emotion bubbles up and over and comes and swings at you. IT'S SO GOOD.

this song really hits for people who have been in an abusive relationship. the video really captures the grieving process. starts out sad and like starting to open up about things that happened, the flooding is 2 things to me; when youre drowning in a relationship or when youre processing the reality of what they've done to you. what you feel you've "allowed" them to do to you, and then the roof top, the rain is now cleansing here of all his shit. shes free from him, shes expressed her emotions and begun (or metaphorically has already) healed.

@sweettea735
@sweettea735 3 жыл бұрын
I think the end: her being stranded on top of a house is kind of effective, in terms of showing the message. Yes, she’s realised that this relationship is shitty, but it also highlights the ‘lost freedom’ that comes after. After being so dependent on your partner, you lose yourself. So finding yourself can feel like you’re stranded alone, despite leaving the partner being cathartic. Idk, that’s what I thought it symbolised.

5:13 my face the whole time when i first listened to the second half, it is just brilliant, FINNEAS is a f..cki..ng genius.✨ And Musically speaking, this song has a great composition and vocals too, doesn't matter she added effects to boom this song even more, her vocals show and are great. ✨🖤

The first time I heard this song was 2 months ago at firefly festival live. When she sang 'you made me hate this city' and the crowd screamed the lyrics at her, all the hairs on my body stood up and I felt this like weird feeling rundown from my head to my toes like electricity. It literally changed my life. I was never a Billie fan before I saw her live and now I think she is literally a goddess.

I think I love when she performs live at the Grammys even better than her “official music video “. She doesn’t miss a beat and sounds so perfect it could almost be prerecorded…but it’s NOT. She and Phinn make it work even while having to obey the GRAMMYS NO NAUGHTY WORDS policy. Her interaction and love for her band mates especially Phin is beautiful to watch while she’s raging in actual wet rain soaking them on stage. It’s like she loves singing this particular song just as much as we love hearing it. Seriously go watch if you haven’t already seen it.

I know some people don’t like the first half of the song, but i just feel like for some reason it fits so well together. Like she starts out how people expect her to sing and it’s almost jarring when she finally decides to let all the rage and screams out. Love love love it❤️

The highest note she sang on this song is an E5! (That too it’s phrased!) You hear it a little bit on the part “don’t waste the time I don’t have”. Otherwise there’s a lot of D5s when the second part starts. I can’t wait to hear her do that long c5 live cause she’d kill it!

This song is amazing I think. I love the second half sound, but I think the beginning sound is a beautiful build up to the second part, that just makes the second part more epic .And of course that transition was freaking awesome. Well I'm probably preaching to the choir here. This has to be the song she does on the next bigger award show. I hope!!!!

I always thought with Billie singing so soft was to be kind of different in a sense to capture our attention with the music scene when she first came out. To make people actually LISTEN to her not only lyrically but vocally since everyone sings either full tilt or ballad-esque with pop. With emotional songs. Now with HTE, it's like, "phuck it, I'm breaking through to make you guys go off tilt with my gift but to listen FULLY." Billie has a clear, good voice that I felt she wanted to hide but tease some, example like you said with, NTTD towards the end to hear a different range, and then with this, Billie changed the scene. When she and Finneas did the sample originally, it was always the first part of the song that i could find. Then with this full song, Billie went full open with what sounded like a chest and full diaphragm sound that we weren't expecting at ALL. And I am here for it.
