Yes! That's why we keep trying to tell reactors "hold off a bit" when we see other commenters hyping "Mayday." It's SO much better if they wait until they know all 6 members and their voices before they watch "Mayday"! (In case anyone's confused, I'm counting Chris, the only one who has left post Sing-Off, and Chance, the only one who has entered post Sing-Off). (I do the same thing with Pentatonix reactors regarding the live Star Vista performance of "A-ha!")

@@janetranslates Very true! I've been following Home Free for quite a while already but only discovered Mayday recently. And I'm glad I did it this late, because that made me appreciate them even more. It is exactly as you said. When you know the guys already, and are familiar with what they do, listening to Mayday is just an AMAZING experience. I know that sometimes it's difficult to not get "spoilered" early on, but I'd definitely recommend waiting a bit and getting to know the band better before checking out their Mayday cover!

Tim’s range is C0-A5, but the A5 was melodical so he probably can go further few notes, which makes his range 6 octaves

Some people may not care for the majority of songs they do as it is mostly country, which I personally have no issues with, BUT, you cannot question their individual talents and how well they put it all together seamlessly, they are the absolute best at what they do bar none imho, no slight on Pentatonix or any other groups...

Home Free actually has a only harmony song called "Helplessly Hoping", where they actually get Adam Rupp (the drum kit as you aptly called him) to sing, which I'm led to believe is difficult. (He loves to beatbox but I guess he's shy about singing.) I do recommend that one, its a great song and waaaay different from what they usually do.

The same had happened to me as well back in highschool lol. Being a skinny 5'3" asian (at the time) people used to assume I'd have a high voice but when I walked out on the stage and hit some A1s in chest voice at 16 I had people running up to me afterwards asking me how I did it and how it was possible :) Now that I'm 5'10" and have more of a beard and moustache at nearly 20 though the lustre has vanished and I kind of miss everyone being shocked when I sang. They're still shocked, it's just they don't have the same "how is this 'kid' doing this" look in their eyes. Glad to see there was someone else who had those reactions.

Great to see you reacting to more Home Free, and this is a pretty special one. A beautiful performance from all of the singers, even if you don't know the bass is singing tenor, and the baritone is going lower than a lot of bass singers can. If you'd like to hear more of Austin's wonderful high, emotional, tenor, try the original he wrote for their last album, Love Me Like That.

Adam Chance has a four octave range that goes below C2, so he is only nominally a baritone. It isn't his fault that Faust's six-octave range reaches the bottom keys of a grand piano.

When they started the last part when they had Austin singing May Day and Rob came in with the sub chorus , Rob did it by himself, and then when they repeated it, Tim came in with a higher harmony behind Rob. Tim's higher register is so nice to hear. So bright and different from what we're usually used to hearing him do. Great role reversal in this song. They are so talented !!

I feel like the only way this performance could possibly be topped would be if both Home Free and Cam would get together sometime and perform this song. I think it really would work because, if you can imagine the nature of the lyrics, being that its about a failing relationship between two people, you can imagine the story/situation being expressed from one character's perspective (female) and then from the other character (male). Man.... that'd be awesome! Hope they can do this in a future live performance, once the whole pandemic is over and we can all attend live performances again.

This song was done shortly after Adam Chance joined. The story I heard was that Chance was the base of his previous group and could already go pretty low, but Tim taught him a few techniques to go even lower. Since Tim _used_ to be the only one who could sing low, he couldn't show off his higher register very often because he was needed for the baseline. This video's purpose was to A) Show off Chance's new and improved range and B) Show what Tim could do when someone else took the base line.

Chance was the bass in the group Street Corner Symphony before he was asked to join Home Free. He’s a tremendous asset to the group. He takes the lead on a song called Cover Me Up, and it’s amazing

Love the entrance Tara-bell 🙂. If you like this one, then you'll love their version of Love Train .I've listened to it at least a hundred times and I have yet to not dance along. Definitely recommend it. Stay safe.
