Yeah even when feeling sick Celine can still outsing people like Katy Perry or Taylor Swift ... lol That says it all. She still sounds better here than those singers, even with a throat infection. The high notes sound thinner here, but it's understandable when you're sick. Everything else is just fine. Pitch is great for 99% of the song.

She was (and still is) facing a huge throat virus which, of course, affected her vocals there. She had to cancel a few shows after this one, but she still wanted to sing live till the end, even if she didn't feel strong enough go on with the performance. She has even made an impromptu speech, as soon as she was back on the stage, about how mad she is for this performance and even apologized for her struggling. It was so heartfelt and moving, she is such an amazing performer and human being.

I believe a larger problem was the sound. There is a video game called The Sims where the characters speak Simlish and that's what Celine sounded like. Beth Hart's sound crew just spoils me. People are taking videos in the back row of her concerts with their smart phones and the performances still sound as good as the studio version. There was too much echo and it sounded like her microphone sound was clipping. For those that don't know, clipping is where the hardware can't keep up with the loudness and so it chops off the sound that is louder than the hardware is set to.

Hello Honest vocal coach 👋🏽. I believe her problem of voice weakness is because her weight loss. My singing teacher confirmed me this. Well, as you said probably she was also seak at that concert but mostly this happened for the weight loss. I hope in this year of pandemic she took a few weight and released the stress. Celine is amazing still ofc sometimes things like this happen, yesterday I had a bad gig where I almost wanted to throw microphone away and stop singing forever because my voice sounded too nasal and hey I’ve been sick for few weeks so maybe my voice havent recovered that well yet. Then again today gig went well even tho I was a bit exhausted easily by singing songs like nothing else matters, jolene and simply the best (and Im a male singer and I sing in female key always) Bad days happen to each of us but this stuff is good to be viewed too because it teaches us all.
