Jungkook probably has perfect pitch too, in one episode of BTS variety show, they made a challenge to get the sequence of notes right just by listening, and JK got it all right on the first try, plus the rest of BTS said he has perfect pitch

As a fellow musician that is normal. It’s called good/trained relative pitch. JK has really good relative pitch but it’s not perfect pitch. That is more than just telling single notes.

Wikipedia has a lot of things written that aren’t accurate, so are the news article about this topic claiming that some Kpop idols have perfect pitch when non of them actually have it. It’s often times written by people that have no idea about music. Charlie said that he suspects it but he doesn’t know since there is also the thing about language barrier.

If you look back at videos, you'll see that JK has a gift for mimicking sounds - whether it's speaking or singing. He does the members' speaking and singing voices very well. Now, his English barely has an accent these days. He is SO talented all around.

I can’t wait for Jungkook’s album. You can tell he’s been playing around with different vocal styles when he has sung on his recent V-lives. He has so much potential. Im sorry to Charlie, its his song he did amazing as always he has a really pretty and sweet voice but for me Jungkook was the one who made the song interesting. First when I heard it I thought it was a little plain until Jungkook came in. He seemed to play more with his voice, that "crying" like tone after his first verse, I was like finally something different. I just wish he had other verse in the same slower melody CP sang after the last chorus, he would have slayed it too.

Just adding my note on why Jungkook's and Charlie's vocals blend well together and sound similar enough in this song - yes, a part of it has to do with how they physically sang (Jungkook is a heavily trained vocalist who can switch and match vocal styles when needed), BUT a huge chunk of the reason why they sound strangely similar was how the vocals were mixed by the audio engineer after the song was recorded. A giant reason why songs sound like they do, is the people involved (like the mixing engineer) after the artist records the song. The people behind the scenes involved in making a song are so many times overlooked. Point being, explaining why vocals sound like they do often times can't be 100% explained by just the singers themselves and simply what vocal technique they used, a big reason is the processing (EQ, compression, reverb, delay, vocal editing, etc) that goes in afterwards. Anyway, love your videos and Jungkook in hot pink will be my downfall!

I'm sure the mixing makes some difference but in this case I'd say Jungkook is known for being able to manipulate his voice as needed. But they both really have a lot of similarities in their singing tone, color, and texture.

Jk and Charlie sound nothing like alike, imo. Sound engineering did the trick plus Jeon Jungkook is well known for his vocal alchemy and chameleon like ability to adjust to fit whatever arrangement you throw at him. A true pro.

Definitely some credit goes to the audio engineer but I would agree with the comments that a lot also has to do with Jungkook’s unique ability to manipulate his voice as needed so that it mixes well with pretty much anyone. It’s one of the reasons why he harmonizes so well with all six other members of BTS, despite them all having vastly different vocal tones. He’s an incredibly talented musician.

We all have our preferences of which type of voices and artist we like the most. don't say "I honestly think JK sound a bit better than Charlie here" that's not nice, and that's just your opinion. Some people prefer strong voices like Charlie (as an example me) and some like soft and airy voices like JK. They are both amazing singers, they both sang the notes and everything correctly its just the diferrent in their style of singing. Instead of saying "I honestly think JK sounds a bit better than Charlie here" say "I personally prefer JK's singing here than Charlie's." there is a diference here, hope you'll understand. Disclaimer: I'm not a vocal coach or a pro singer - but it feels like when Charlie sings each word has the same volume all the way through so his singing feels a little staccato. Jungkook's singing feels like it varies a bit more in volume. I'm so impressed with JK's English, I didn't hear any accent at all in this song. It's really fun to see people from different countries with different native languages singing together. That reminds me, Tristan, have you checked out Aurora and Qing Feng Wu's "Storm?" It's a great collab between Norwegian and Chinese singers. It's really a fun song!

That isnt an indication of perfect pitch. That is what is known as a good relative pitch. Perfect Pitch aka Absolute pitch is shown by being able to tell what the note is of any sound without any reference. Not just being able to sing a note back.

@@TheJJ6 I’m just repeating what Charlie, who himself has perfect pitch, said about Jungkook. Charlie (who has spent time with Jungkook in real life) said that he believes Jungkook has perfect pitch because he asked him to sing a note and before he could give him a reference point, Jungkook just went ahead and did it. In other words, Jungkook did not need a reference point and was able to produce the note on command.

Agree their voices are both distinctive enough to tell the difference and let us be able to appreciate the characteristics while still similar enough to harmonize and complement each other. Overall really great even tho the tune is a tad little too simple for me. The bridge does add something compared to the demo/ fan made demo I heard prior to release CP and JK should Collab more and hopefully one day we can get to hear these 2 perform live together again.
