Doja has always been great at harmonies and melodies, I think that’s what adds the cherry on top to her music, even with her troll music. She has a distinctive voice and I think that’s what makes her a good singer and unique rapper.

@@glynnparry4495 she might be slightly inspired by nicki when it comes to her old songs, but clearly she is in her alt era, she is more so inspired by punk , rock etc when it comes to imagery, and I don't things she even remotely is similar to nicki and i absolutely love nicki, she is amazing. But i dont think they are similar apart from the fact that they are both black, both can rap and sing, and both are good song writers. As for trying to understand what's going on in the MV, a lot of the imagery used in the video is based on Doja's own paintings! And, as many people have said before, Scarlet (when she's in red bloodied body paint) is her alter ego for this new album. Another great and insightful reaction!
@Jillberto Жыл бұрын
Yes! Also there is a lot hints to how some people painted her as evil, selling her soul to the devil etc. hence why she also did all that devil thing. For example her ringing the bell and throwing the meat around could be her calling her haters and feeding them with even more things to hate her for. Or the wig not being completly on her head. So many people want her to wear wigs but she doesnt. So yeah. Ioved the Video
@itsjustme8873 Жыл бұрын
@@Jillberto That makes a lot of sense! I've seen how many people called her all sorts of nasty things once she shaved her head and eyebrows, including "demonic", the illuminati stuff, etc.. It's so weird to me seeing people only like her when she caters to them - mainly her appearance and music. I'm so glad she's been able to take the approach that she wants for her music now, and less about what her label pushes onto her. Kinda odd though. Why would she say "F yall", "when im on, im here to shame all of you", "I don't know any of you idc". In a sense she isn't filtering anything. When she's basically clowning every single person who even says "i love you" or "im a fan" whether you stick around or not. Thats fine but she will gladly flip you off. We've seen that, she can date pedos. To each their own. But why "filter out" by literally cussing out EVERY FAN, good or bad? 🤣 thats the mystery. It would make sense to filter out the BAD FANS. Who actually just hate. Not the ones who SUPPORT and LOVE HER. Shes kinda attacking both...I wish her success but not when she's willing to be rude to those that love her too. :/ its sad. But hey. From what I've gathered in my search (much like yours) for an answer, this is what I found to be most intriguing: 1. This is depicting one of her alter egos, Scarlett. She says whats on her mind and is a bit, ruthless in her delivery. Doja has made it known that Nicki Minaj is one of her biggest sources of inspiration and Nicki has dubbed many personas through her discography (Harajuku Barbie, Roman, Chun Li, Onika, etc), so this album, from what it seems, is through Scarlett's POV. 2. When she removes her eyeball in the beginning, it might imply that Scarlett wants us, as the audience, to see the world through her POV. 3. In the beginning, she's riding on top of a massive troll. Someone said in a comment before that she's "trolling the trolls." Perhaps the "drama" with her online lately has all been a stunt. 4. There was some sort of interesting significance about her cutting off that eye stalk in the middle of the video, but I can't remember why that was important.

I agree with the comment at the end. It’s weird af to tell someone you don’t even know you love them. & no, it’s NOT thanks to them she’s had so much success.... it’s thanks to herself because if she didn’t make music THEY ENJOY then they wouldn’t have streamed her music or support her in anyway, so her music is what made her successful & her talent, not them for streaming it. I don’t listen to Doja Cats music to hope it helps her in her career, I listen to it because she’s talented af & makes good music! JUST like her fans! They don’t listen to her bc they “love her” bc just like her “stans” (& everyone else’s stans) there is plenty of her songs that I don’t listen to that I like less than some of the others & the same goes for them. They just happen to like her MUSIC & HER TALENT. She’d BEEN canceled if it wasn’t for her being SO very talented! So no, she doesn’t love y’all because she doesn’t know y’all & y’all don’t love her either for the same reason. Y’all may be a fan, y’all may love her music, & that’s because you DO know her music & you do know her talent but you don’t know her at all & don’t love her, & vise versa.. if you did actually love her you wouldn’t be tryna take credit for her success as if her & her mountain of talent had just nothing at all to do with it. That’s not love. In fact, if some man in her life... well “Dr. Luke” actually.... perfect example. Dr. Luke tried to take credit for “making” her & y’all see the issue with that. If an ex boyfriend tried to take credit for her success after trying to force her to tell him she loves him, & saying “I made you! If you don’t do what I say I’ll stop supporting you!” y’all would rightfully so see that as an issue & tell her she needs to leave his crazy & ABUSIVE behind. Well, y’all are the abusive bf in this scenario right now....

So what I've taken from this video is... the green creature she's riding is all the trolls in her life and she's on top of it just riding along with it (as you can see how she is dressed while she is on top of it it's more of her old style) When she jumps off we are greeted with the grim reaper... In tarot card readings which I recently found out she's into that type of stuff their is a tarot card called "death" and it has the grim reaper. The death card can sometimes mean literal death but majority of the time it means change. How she embraces this grim reaper in this video I think it's her showing us that she is embracing this change in her life. Also... the moment with her wearing horns apparently someone thinks it's representing taking over her life. There is the man with a missing horn and you know how the the guy trys to put his hand on his shoulder and she swifts it away? (this person explained this meaning but cannot remember fully what it was...) But it's basically representing no, I'm not letting a man take over my life. So far that's what I've kinda read off of this music video...
