Beth - I just came across this amazing singer. Her music ties the ancient Nordic and Celtic cultures together and I sincerely believe that is why it penetrates so deeply. After deconstructing this, try listening to it again, close your eyes and surrender your emotions to it. I can't - it brings me to tears. I am a student of Iron Age Celtic history and I can tell you that the Faroe Islands are one of the main ancient crossroads where Iron Age Celtic and Norse cultures intertwined. If it is pulling at your heart strings, consider this: Eivor is a spring and the voices from the ancient past are indelibly printed in her genes.

Thanks for doing this video! Eivor is absurdly talented as a singer (and musician) - had the pleasure of seeing her live in a very intimate venue (whim purchase after hearing her voice on Jools Holland and being a bit captivated) - interestingly she has at least 3 distinct vocal "styles" - the odd throat singing type beat boxing, the high atmospheric keening in Faroese and Icelandic, and her English language alt-pop kind of voice where she sounds eerily like Kate Bush. Really one of the finest singers I've had the pleasure of seeing up close. So versatile and engaging! Also, as someone who grew up in Shetland, the Faroe connection really speaks to my memories of childhood in a kind of primal way I can't explain very well. Really, a singer who should receive more attention internationally for her talent. If you get the chance please go and see her! - she tours a lot, and her low profile means the gigs tend to be ridiculously cheap (I think I paid £10 only) for some absolutely wonderful entertainment.

Discovered eivor about 8 months ago and after viewing over 100 of her live and MV performances, she ranks in the top 5 world class female vocalists still active. The following will blow your mind. She’s so versatile “Eivor Wake me Up” ( 7: 11 duration) it’s in English and she kills it with celestial high notes and emotional impact. It’s about her longing to wake up from this earthy dream and reunite with a love that left her and she longs to return to that time lit by heartfelt memories ( and oh boy does her voice scale the ethereal heights). Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. ~ Eivor “ free falling” ( the one that’s 6:47 duration. It’s on the island but inside I believe a restaurant seating capacity ( when the camera panned the audience) probably 300 lucky lucky souls to witnessed this beyond amazing performance. She put it on KZbin about 3 years ago and very few views and likes. If she performed it in America and there were 50,000 in attendance , all 50,000 would be screaming and yelling for a long time during and after the performance. The strobe lightening, camera angles, her otherworldly vocal all combine to make this rendition truly unforgettable. At the end she hits a phrase that is so celestial so mystical so heavenly that even the great Dimash couldn’t execute with the emotional impact and purity that Eivor does. And a band member on drums was really into it! Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. “Evior sofar True love” ( 5:18 duration) she performed this several times but my recommended version is otherworldly ~ Excuse my excitement but whenever I discover an amazing vocalist I can’t control my emotions. When I first discovered Morissette, Daryl Ong, Dimash, ( best pop-op vocalist in the world), Diana Ankudinova, , Park Hyoshin ( best ballad vocalist in the world) , Park Ki Young ( one of the best female vocalists.. as good as or better than So Hyang ), Forestella ( best crossover male vocal harmony group in the world). Lara Fabian... Now for one more Eivor ( the only one I know with a full orchestra and the one that highlights another side of her voice : semi-classical : KZbin “Evior may it be “ ( Lord of the Rings) in a palatial setting in front of thousands with full orchestra and the Queen of Denmark!! ( at the end of this amazing performance the camera pans to the balcony and the Queen Of Denmark clapping. Incredible, mystical, celestial , will transport you to a higher realm. All love, Al

Great to find out you reacted to Eivør!! Such a rare singer I feel really lucky of having discovered, as on my side of the world there's no way she could be on a radio or TV. Randomly found her, because of a docu in spanish i was watching about nordic mitology in which she was sounding as background music for about 30 secs. I asked the producer of that docu who was that singer 😍

I discovered her on KZbin about a month ago and she blew my mind and opened my heart. She’s from the small Faroe island and when she gives a performance virtually the whole island of about 600 show up. She has an angelic voice so unique , so mystical , so magical, so entrancing so hauntingly beautiful that if you ( or your subscribers) react ( no one will recommend her so I hope you will react privately ) to the following 3 performances “ Eivor Palsdottir Wake me Up” ( 7: 11 duration) it’s in English and she kills it with celestial high notes and emotional impact. It’s about her longing to wake up from this earthy dream and reunite with a lover that left her with this heart-wrenching longing. ( and oh boy does her voice scale the ethereal heights). This vocalist has already become in my favorite top 8 female vocalists of all time! Of all time!!! And I just discovered her less than a month ago. How on God’s earth did i ever overlook this world class vocalist. You will love her and her band. Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. Eivor “ free falling” ( the one that’s 6:47 duration) You will love her and her band. The strobe lightening, post production camera work, her otherworldly vocal is beyond belief. At the end she hits notes that are so celestial so mystical so heavenly that even the great Dimash couldn’t execute with the emotional impact and purity that Eivor does. And a band member on drums was really into it! is a sight to behold. I discovered Eivor less than a month ago. How on God’s earth did i ever overlook this world class vocalist? Watch the drummer go crazzzyyy. My first recommendation ( “ spellbound”) similar to Diana Ankudinova with enchanting tribunal mystical sounds. She’s versatile and the 3 I recommend are different in style from the one you reacted to. ( “ Falling Free” and “ Wake me Up” more like symphonic ethereal metal ( a little bit of Nightwish comes to mind). She’s so versatile. She has a website with about 30 more songs ( a mixture of live and MV and most over the course of 5 years got very few responses but all responses were OMG, WOW, NOW MY FAVORITE FEMALE VOCALIST , INCREDIBLE , BEYOND AMAZING . Excuse my excitement but whenever I discover a new amazing vocalist I can’t control my emotions. I was one of the very first to discover and highly recommend (before the masses reacted to): Morissette, Daryl Ong, Dimash, ( best pop-op vocalist in the world), Diana Ankudinova, , Park Hyoshin ( best ballad vocalist in the world) , Park Ki Young ( one of the best female vocalists.. as good as or better than So Hyang ), Forestella ( best male vocal harmony group in the world). Lara Fabian... One more: ( the only one I know with a full orchestra :) : “Evior may it be “ ( Lord of the Rings) in front of thousands with full orchestra and the Queen of Denmark! incredible, mystical, celestial , will transport you to a higher realm).
