j-hope has been ballsy! He is the bravest to experiment and be adventurous with his sounds. He has always been good at blending genres. That is why he is that good in his craft. He keeps studying and respecting cultures or genre. His flow in this song cements his skill as a very versatile rapper and artist. j-hope is the most dynamic and diverse with his music. Add the fact he has good vocals that he could manipulate to fit any songs. Flexibility and distinct flavour. All him! His artistry is mind blowing!

im shocked when tristan mentioned how hobis rapping similar to what beatboxers do to their voice! bcos hobi can beatbox! he used to do it a lot before. its crazy i never thought of that. ive always believed its just his dancing that has influenced his style of rap.. such a cool realization today. lol

Not sure I would say “bravest” bc art is subjective.. one persons safe is another’s extreme. Yoongi and namjoon definitely both create music outside the box… jungkook as well… all using all their strengths to define their particular sound. Except as they explained.. a mixtape is based on using samplings of other music to make your own. Jhope is the only one who we have seen what his own solo music is starting from.. and no one else has had the opportunity to show us yet. I’m excited since he said his album is gonna tell a story.. seems like a dark to light concept possibly.. wish we knew how many songs would be on an album but I’m so excited to hear what golden hyung Jhope has in store for us!!! This was def a surprise bc most of his other music kinda falls in the old school hip hop vibe for the most part.. not all.. but most of them are similar sonically.. except for like blue side… which is still one of my favorite songs any member has ever released on their own… and that def helps show a bit more versatility … and now this almost kinda rock/old school hip hop vibe is really cool. Can just picture him performing this at lollupoluza with the band… feels like a perfect song for that! Very exciting!!! This is barely step one into his actual artistry…. Can’t wait to hear his step two. Have they mentioned anything about like a new music video for other songs from his new album? It’s kind of confusing and I want to be ready to stream accordingly.

@@blarmy827 You say that but while art is subjective, bravery is undoubtedly what j-hope displayed. He tried something out of the box (lol) and actually served great quality with it. And he IS the best at experimenting with and blending genres. After you wrote that reply, 3 more BTS members have come out with their official solo debut, with only two remaining, and j-hope still remains the one to have been the ‘bravest’. Among those that have already released their solo album are the BTS rappers (which include j-hope) and they are the ones who self produce/compose and write their music. While everyone else also came out with good title tracks and albums, you have to admit that the most bold effort out of all WAS indeed j-hope’s. Set Me Free pt. 2 was also pretty experimental considering Jimin’s past songs but MORE exceeds quality wise. Plus, Jimin’s vocals were the most appropriate place for him to be experimental but the decision for the autotune kinda took away the experimentation spot. This isn’t a dig towards anyone btw, rather an analysis. Hope you’re enjoying the latest music! Along with Jack In The Box! :)

Ah yes, J-Hope is all about making unique sounds with his voice. Lol. I’m the type of person who likes to imitate people’s voices as closely as possible when I cover their singing or rapping and his sound is by far the most difficult for me to replicate. 😆 In case you were wondering, Jimin is the 2nd hardest for me. JK is the easiest, just because his voice is so similar to my own.. just a more masculine version.

If you listen to Hope World mixtape you will see how diverse and creative J-Hope is. His voice has so many colours and texture. The recent BTS mainstream success songs have not featured him nearly enough. So glad to see him getting his moment to shine.

1:51 this actually makes a lot of sense considering that jhope knows how to beatbox. he doesnt do it now (as far as i know since i havent seen him do it these days) but in their early years and during the beginning of the love yourself era jhope used to beatbox while rm or suga raps (freestyle). he did it once in "knowing bros" where he beatboxed for rm as he rapped.

3:14 "It's odd, but in the most beautiful way possible." This is why despite this track being so different from j-hope's normal sound, it still feels so suitable for him and I'm not surprised to see him release something like this. His usual music has a similar vibe, poppy but with use of funky sounds and colors and stuff that doesn't seem quite like anything else. This has that same quirkiness but adds in the more serious side of his personality I think. I love that he's taking this direction!

I never made the connection between his vocals and beatboxing sounds. The exact sound you made to immitate his vocal in that one part is the exact same sound we once heard J-Hope practicing on American Hustle Life when he was getting training in beatboxing. Like it brought back the memory of him doing it over and over trying to get the sound right all of those years ago. So cool to think that that may have been an influence he pulled from to create a unique vocal effect. You really don't miss a thing. That was so observant.

j-hope fans who are rock music lovers like for example me, are absolutely thrilled!!!! I knew long ago he would be so cool and good in this kind of music (not anyone can pull this off, it screams legit). His passionate, intense Tear verse in live performances, his emotive rapping in Boy Meets Evil, even his rendition of rock song "I was able to Eat well" years ago gave us these glimpses already. He is legit, he has perfect stage moves and his voice is very very emotive, he can scream well too -perfect for rock genre ;-).

Thank you for reacting to More by j-hope. His album is released on the 15th of july. j-hope is probably one of the most adventurous with his sounds, he loves to push boundaries and mix different genres. Only listen to Daydream, Ego, Dis-ease and you expect a lot more upbeat lyrics, but reading them you realize they are a lot more deeper and emotional. His artistry is beyond this world!
