Katrina is mainly Self Taught vocalist who suffers from “Bell’s palsy is a condition in which the muscles on one side of your face become weak or paralyzed, still under treatment. Entitled as the "Asia's Vocal Supreme", Katrina Velarde is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano whose vocal range spans virtually 5 octaves (4.7 octaves), stretching from C3 to B7,[with the exception of an exclaimed 8th octave whistle note (C#8). Being a Lyric Soprano, Katrina possesses a light voice, accompanied by a warm, mature and bright sounding timbre; together with a fairly high tessitura, this allows for her to scale as high as C6 (in mixed voice) with relative ease. Her lower register on the other hand, is rather impressive for a soprano her class - bearing the potential of maintaining a solid projection all the way down to a C#3. Having seemingly unrivaled breath management technique, she is able to hold long musical phrases in one breath and last for up to 42 seconds without visible struggle.Her astounding and well-refined vocal agility is worth mentioning- capable of executing runs and riffs in coloratura speeds (6 notes in .3 seconds, 11 notes in 1 second, 18 notes in 1.9 seconds). One of her better known traits as a vocalist however, is her ability to imitate the sound and vocal styles of various local and international musicians (way Too Many to List)
