Lorren said when she recorded it that she tried her best to sing it as the actress did and use her style of singing so that it did fit Rebecca in the movie. I think that's why it comes across more authentic from Rebecca. Which just goes to show what an amazing singer Lorren is because she was able to "act"

Cornelius Yong Rebecca sang the song in studio but said it was Lorrens song that she had to sing it. So Lorren listen to Rebecca's recording and tried her best to match Rebecca's way of singing that way when Rebecca was ready to shoot the scene she would feel more connected to the song and be able to give a more sincere performance.

Kyrianna ah Okies. No matters. It's cos the one I saw was where Rebecca was interviewed and mentioned how she had to redo the scene to perfection to ensure that her lipsync was on point. And how she went through vocal lessons to control the appropriate muscles for the scene

Kyrianna no....Rebecca Furgeson gas a background in choral music and has said she doesn't sing like this. Loren Allred is the original singer of this song always has been. Rebecca lipsynched the whole time and yes she did ask reshoot the scene to do the vocal justice.

Loren Allred has the most wonderful tone. And that RANGE. Yes she sang it one half-step lower... which is much more impressive to me than one half step higher... this song has some very low notes, she even goes down to a B2 with ease, which is a pretty low note for a female voice. I heard her singing "full" high notes effortlessly, much higher than an E5 (which is the highest note in this performance). However, the one thing that really strikes everybody the most in Loren's voice is her tone... so rich, so warm, so beautiful.

6:55 this part is so weird for me. lol I never wanted to sing, had no interest, but I did end up with a vocal coach. I was sent to him from my doctor to learn how to breathe correctly through my asthma. Which most of us with asthma never learn. He use to do basically what this lady does in this part. He would sort of gently lol smack me in the stomach to see if I was using my breath support correctly. The same support that singers use. So I could do sports and other high impact activities that I could never do before. He did end up teaching me basics of singing to help with my support, so yes I can sing although it's very different sounding than a professional. Very airy (sort of like a flute) for obvious reasons. Still it was interesting/surreal to see this lady demonstrate the same thing I learned for breathing.

I was diagnosed with an interstitial lung disease in March. My pulmonologist wants me to exercise regularly to improve my lung function. While I do that, I have also picked up this soundtrack, and others (showtunes, old hymn s, etc) where you really have to sing out and use your breath properly. I had a 2 hour drive today, and listened to this CD over and over, singing my lungs out haha. So much so, I was hoarse by the time I got home. I used to sing in choirs (church, school) and with my family, years ago and then stopped when I got busy with my own little family. It almost hurts to sing since the diagnosis, but I wanted to do something besides walking, which is practically all I can manage right now. I walk, but I prefer the singing to exercise my lungs. I will always have a deficit, as I have scarring in my lungs, but I love this CD so much and these songs, so much, I use it primarily. The final song I sometimes "save" and sing at a later time during the day, because I love the whole "you just got taken to CHURCH!!" vibe of the song and because it's a helluva lot of fun to sing.

"A tidy performance" I've seen/heard a couple of covers of this song that gave it more of a pop feel, along with pop/R & B type runs, I personally found that it took away from the actual song. I guess I'm basically saying that with some songs it is better not to deviate too far from what is written. Maybe it's songs from musicals, I'm not sure. For example, I imagine "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Mis would sound a bit off if it were sung in a pop/R&B style.

Oh my Lord! You and I had the same reaction to this performance! In my case, listening with great head phones after a couple of glasses of wine. It's a wonder I didn't fall over. Huge ballad! And yes, I was one great big goose bump! Love your voice as well! And your style! I just stumbled in here and glad I did! Love and hugs!

I love the little knee kick she does on the Never. If you are in the mood for more Showman, the first time Keala Settle sings This Is Me to get the show greenlit is amazing and inspirational.

Just from the little bit when you sang/commented I think you are quite a singer hiding in there. I would love to see a video of you covering a song, anything you like; I know it would be fabulous to hear! Thanks Ronnie

Her tone and vocals really are truly amazing. I spent 4 years in choir and am INLOVE with this song, I do wish the background wasn't as loud as it was so we could here it better. #TeamLoren #LorenAllred #NeverEnough #TheGreatestShowmam

I dont know why, but I love @2:32 how the she sings "will never be enough".Check out that little leg/shoe lift @ 3:08. In the lyrics wi(ll nev)er be enough. The ll sound transitioning into the nev in "never". I forgot the term in music, but its when two separate note are blended. The notation is a smiley line connecting both notes that are blended in stead of the notes being like 2 syllables. I think its called a slur. I also like that they have the "Eye of Sauron" behind her.

I knew before watching the movie that the actress didn’t actually sing the song, but I love how they worked together to give Rebecca her own voice when she portrayed it in the movie. I hope Loren goes on to great things 🥰

Yes. I got the goosebumps as well. Who knew that her live performance was good. She can sing. I would say it's better than the recorded version. I know she is the actual singer, but when she sings, it reminds me of the actress again and again.

I love that I can see in your face how genuinely happy you are for Lauren and her performance. It's fantastic to see someone equally talented be supportive of the "competition" if you will. Especially in this day and age when it seems all others want to do is tare one another down. This is my first time seeing you, Rebecca, and i have to say that your few notes have made me want to hear you more. It also makes me what to hire you for my voice.
