I paid for KZbin premium once I discovered Marc Martel because I feel like we are witnessing one of the great artists rise. Of course his Queen covers are amazing but he is insanely talented in his own right and his confidence and ease when he performs is incredible.

Marc was discovered when he auditioned for the Queen Extravaganza, but has recently had a big uptick in his popularity with Bohemian Rhapsody and the wave of vocal coach reacts videos. Another amazing talent that has also pushed this wave is Dimash, if you haven't , you should check him out.

What is important to note is that a acoustic piano version of this song by Freddie does NOT exist. There was NO Unplugged at the time of his passing. Marc has created a series of "one~takes" that are their own pieces of art. Marc's ability to not only capture one of the great voices of rock but also play the piano, guitar is stunning! We should consider ourselves lucky to get to experience this epic voice not once, but twice in a lifetime. We are watching a unicorn in a world of mediocrity!

The way that Marc performs this song is more in line with how Freddie performed it live, especially later in his career where he went for a stronger and less effeminate vibe which went along with his persona at the time. Marc actually discusses this briefly in his video explaining how to sing like Freddie Mercury.
