Adam, I've enjoyed your performance reviews! Honored to be used as a teaching subject. Studying others is how I learned to sing, so pass it on. This was a "Freddie For A Day" event in Montreux, Switzerland. We (the Queen Extravaganza) hadn't performed together for at least 6 months, if I remember correctly. And the 3 North Americans in the band were dealing with some heavy jetlag, and having to power through a 3-hour rehearsal just before the show! On top of that, it was our one and only ever live-streamed show, so we were indeed under pressure. But we were all incredibly pleased about how the show went, and the incredible energy a ballroom full of Freddie fans brought. Keep up the good work!

True story. This performance was in Switzerland, 2016 for Freddie's official birthday party. Freddie's mother, Jer, was in attendance and personally thanked Marc Martel after the performance for keeping her son's memory alive. She passed away and joined Freddie two months later.

It is impossible, because the Queen does not need the cover on their hits, they need show. And in general Brian and Roger said that the current tour is one of the last. Then they go into solo projects, but because of this I want to cry, because it will not be the greatest, all beloved Queen! :(

The only "complaint" I've got is that he's trying to sound like Freddie from the studio version. And when performing live it becomes a bit stale and low energy. I'd much rather see him play with the songs a bit more like Freddie did. Maybe even grab parts from different plays, such as taking the "Pray tomorrow gets me higher hiigher hiiiiigh" bit from Hungarian Rhapsody from '86 where he uses a much stronger but lower tone, rather than going as high pitched as possible.
@amyjohnson5839
@amyjohnson5839 5 жыл бұрын
But that is the whole point of the this tribute band. Roger Taylor formed this group. Picked all the members. Taylor wants the band to sound as much like the recordings as possible. So this is intentional. If you want something different, listen to Queen+Adam Lambert.
@MyLittleMagneton
@MyLittleMagneton 5 жыл бұрын
@@amyjohnson5839 I could be mistaken, but it doesn't strike me like Roger Taylor would have them "sound like the recordings" rather than sound like the band. It's not that I want something "different", I still want to hear a good queen tribute. They can and do sound like queen, which is good! But as I tried explaining, I just feel like there's a lack of oomph, a bit too "I have to sing exactly like this". That was never Freddie's style when performing live. Also, If you want the same thing, listen to the albums.
