Your diplomacy is outstanding. It's clear that Vince is not at the top of his game here, and you did everything you could to avoid slamming him. Well done.
@stretchopotomus23855 жыл бұрын
That's one way to look at it. I wouldn't particularly want anyone slammed, but I think honesty is more important than diplomacy, and in all honesty, coming from a Motley Crue fan, Vince's performance was terrible, and he has lost any strength of vocals that he ever had, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I have seen, he never could quite hack it live.

Compared to seeing them in the late 80's Vince is singing better. So sad. He trailed off lyrics on all his songs way worse than this video when I saw them. This was in Germany and it was basically a gymnasium with the pullout bleachers. It was so bad. I wanna say it was Ufo and Dokken in the show. Ufo stole the show. I really like Crue but that was a terrible outing for them.

Favorite guitar solos: Home Sweet Home, Girls Girls Girls, Looks That Kill, Dr. Feelgood, Same Ol' Situation, Take Me To The Top and Too Young To Fall In Love. Another great and underrated guitarrist is Neal Schon from Journey. He played with Santana at the age of 16, and founded Journey in 1975. Favorite guitar solos: Still They Ride, Send Her My Love, Stone In Love, Who's Crying Now, Faithfully, Separate Ways, Anytime, Feeling That Way, Lights, Of A Lifetime, Mother Father, La Raza Del Sol, Only The Young, Wheel In The Sky, Edge Of The Blade, After The Fall, When You Love A Woman, La Do Da, Ask The Lonely, Chain Reaction, Winds Of March, and Back Talk.

Well that overdose story is wrong. That's not one story. It's two stories. The lyrics "valentines in London, found me in the trash" was from the UK, where he started to OD. He claimed a dealer beat him with a baseball bat, which is nonsense. No dealer would do that, they would know it wouldn't do anything other than maybe kill the guy. But he likely would dump in the bins. As a struggling addict for 20-odd years I have seen this kind of thing happen. The other story, where he was injected with adrenaline, was from when he overdosed in LA. Slash was allegedly there, and he put him in the shower and called the paramedics.

mjs28s - Vince was a great frontman and very good signer in his prime, he had the range and hit some serious 1980's hair metal high notes and he sang with feeling. His daughter died from cancer as a child which was around the time the bad separated and arguably the end of Motley Crue's prime. He never returned to his peak form but that could definitely be due to never really recovering from that heartbreak.

I had a few drinks with Tommy Lee after the show and I asked him "how do you keep playing when the crowd reacts like that" His response we don't give a flying F---- what these people think, we know we have something great going on, they can go f---- themselves.. .. 6 months later I remember watching MTV(new at the time) and there they were in heavy rotation on MTV and signed with Electra. I was surprised by this review. I avoided the Crue live strictly because I couldn’t take Vince’s live vocals anymore and didn’t feel the exorbitant tix price for the final tour was worth it. They obviously still put on a great show. And your review was extremely positive. In saying that I’m kindof a hypocrite because I went and seen Van Halen a couple years ago and although Eddie Alex were still amazing DLR was beyond putrid and I basically got through the show by singing everything loud enough so I could block out his vocals! Lol 😂

You got two different overdose stories, both of those stories actually happened, just at different times.
@guitarforlife73545 жыл бұрын
The first story which happened in London is referred to in the song 'dancing on glass' from the Girls Girls Girls album

Vince was already in the twilight of his career at this point. Saw them on the Dr. Feelgood tour and he was doing a great job.

Mick Mars guitar is ridiculously insane, he is way better then the credit he gets.

You are an absolute gentleman for not ripping Vince apart. Not that it seems to be in your character, but on this one it would be so easy to do. Anyways, just wanted to complement your humanity, good sir. Have a good day!

That is actually two different stories the beginning of the first story is actually mentioned in the third song on the Girls Girls Girls album Dancing on Glass the line being “Hard times in London found me in the trash... Dancing on Glass” Nikki did OD in London but he didn’t die at that point. and the second half of that story is from his second OD in which he actually legally died and then the other EMT present said he wasn’t going to let him die and shot him up with two syringes of adrenaline. Which is where the song Kickstart my Heart comes from...

When Vince isn't running around the stage gasping for breath, he sounds decent. He could perform better if he were in better shape. When the played on Jimmy Fallon where he kind of stood in place, he sounded fine.

Amazing video. Keep up the good work. Vince Neil seems like he can’t perform these types of songs anymore. Home sweet home and without you are definitely his strengths these days.

What language was Vince singing in ? I hardly understand a few words he sang.

Hey Ken, just so you know, Motley uses backing vocal tracks, keep that in mind.

Yes they are playing tight! Bands that improve with age and choose to live cleaner. I also would love to hear your take on Tom Keifer, Richie Kotzen and loved your Michael Sweet tribute!!

Tom Keifer had it bad, with the surgery and all, but the guy was a beast in the 80’s era.
