Normally the first several years after they debut, they still live in dorms as it makes it easier for them to get to schedules like recording sessions or filming sessions for music videos, tv shows or magazine shoots etc. Aside from that, they still live in dorms after they debut because they still have to pay back their "debt" to the company because during their training period EVERYTHING is covered by the company, so after they debut basically a large percentage of what they make goes back to the company to pay off the expenses that the company spent on them during their trainee period. Paying for dance lessons, vocal lessons, travel expenses, food, housing, paying for the trips to hair salons and dermatologists, clothes etc literally EVERYTHING. Only after they've paid it all off then they can enjoy more of the money they make and then they can decide to either buy their own house or not. Usually they choose to stay in the dorms tho because it's just easier. But when they do buy a house usually it's for their parents first before they buy a house for themselves.

SM doesn't have debt system tho, their idols got paid right after debut. But idols (at least from SM) mostly live in the dorms until like 8th year after debut or smth like this and then move their own place bcuz dorms are paid by company so they can save money to buy really good apartment/house bcuz real estate in Seoul is hella expensive and a some idols firstly spend money not to buy apartment for themselves but for their parents/pay family debts etc.

Most Kpop groups stay in dorm. It's a normal thing. They gonna move together like going to music show, variety show so live together make it easier and faster gathering them. For NCT it's actually an apartment with 3 rooms, some members have the whole room for themselves, somes share with 1 other member and some share with manager. Chenle lives separate in his own house but sometimes when there is a promotion, he will move back to the dorm

Their "dorm" is basically an apartment with 5-6 members! They have multiple apartments, one for each unit (127 has 2, since they have more members)

Most Kpop groups live in dorms, I think partly because of their busy schedules. If they don’t live together, then it will be hard for their company to gather them altogether to go to the same venue to perform their songs, film variety shows etc. Also, some members are foreigners who don’t have a home in Korea. Like Yuta in NCT 127. He would be very lonely just living by himself in some apartment. Winwin could live with him but...later Winwin also left the subunit... (I don’t know if Mark and Johnny have homes in Seoul. I think some of their family members still live there.) Theoretically, the members can individually drive to the venue by themselves. But that’s only if everyone has a driver’s licence. Some of them can’t drive, and it’s not like they can take public transport as celebrities. I think big groups have a different manager assigned to every single member. But again, picking them up from different places just increase the risk of some members not arriving on time (e.g. if some get stuck in traffic). That would mess up the entire choreography. Dorms are very important and useful to Kpop groups.

For the dorm thing, it's also because it's easier for the company to keep track of them/ managers to get them. Imagine having to drive around to get 23 people who live in different corners of a big city like Seoul?

We have to take into account that buying houses/apartments is very expensive in Korea + foreign members normally don't buy anything like that. The company puts in money on the groups and puts them in dorms and then they make money from album sales and concert to pay back the company. While they are paying off their debts, the money the members make is separated between all members equally (well this is if it's stated like that in your contract). This is why most groups still live I dorms, because of the debts they have to pay back. The companies will not accommodate them with more until then.

Living in Drom is just normal for the idol in Korea. They still living at the apartment together , playing game together at Drom still now You can search all of them at NCT daily channel, even the channel didn’t continue the uploading video, you can find the old “Uncut videos” for each songs. so basically when idols r training they live in dorms with all the other company trainers (although some do live with their own parents if they live near the company building). the “dorms” idols normally live in after they debut r basically apartments that the company pays for. the bigger the company, the bigger apartment the idols get. in a lot of cases after group makes it and it’s been up to 5-7 years after the debut they’ll buy their own places and live there such as exo and shinee. in the case of nct, they live in different apartments according to their units. nct dream live in a separate apartment and so do 127 and wayv.

For a few things you asked: 1. Yes they are still living in dorms. For many groups even if they start making money they stay together to be more connected (makes working easier especially since they are always busy and moving as a unit works really well.) And companies really like promoting humility and staying humble in general. 2. Please react to more nct vocals. I see you like Doyoung, Yuta, and Renjun's vocals. Doyoung has many covers. They rent out the whole apartment floor you can call it a dorm too I guess? they can move out and live alone but since they always have many schedules as a group it's troublesome for the manager to pick all of them and match the timings (Most don't have driving license) there are many other reasons but yeah this is why they all live together based on their units p.s they live together in different apartment located in different areas based on their units

for your question regarding dorms, yes they all live in the dorms when they are trainees they live in the trainee dorms, and when they debut as a group they have a dorm or an apartment living together with the whole members, they are allowed to go home home time to time but they all live together up to such point that the company allows them to live on their own or if they can have their own aprtment already that's the set up for most kpop idols.

And they are serious, no funny meme cut vlog videos showing their recording process and true hard work put into creating the album and the member's honest thoughts throughout. About the dorm, actually Kpop idols live in the dorm at their first period time of debuting (can be last for 7 years until they resign their new contract). Then it’s up to the members whether they wanna live toghether more or not. For example, Super Junior is a group with more than 15 years experiemce in Kpop industry and their youngest member is 33 years old, but some of them live toghether at dorm until now cause if not, “the dorm = their whole memories” will dispear. If NCT don’t have schedule, some of them tent to back with their family at some times. FYI, NCT’s dorm is an apartment, without the privacy (beacause of the crazy-fan), it’s very comfortable.

Basically every kpop grp has to live in their dorms before they all agree they want to buy houses and live by themselves they live together as it will help them have a better bond with eachother and can also take care of eachother and when some idols debut they are too young to buy a house

The dorms are just nice apartments that they share and 127 and WayV have two dorms cause they have more members and Dream has one. It's easier for them to bond and go to schedules when they live together. And they also can save for when they want to buy their own place instead of renting. They don't have a debt system in SM but other companies do have it so many do live in dorms longer cause of it
