The "Pentatonix" are a great ensemble. I had not seen their Rihanna Medley, so thank you for the beautiful video. I absolutely adore their different styles, and how they embrace each personality to make an unstoppable team. They're also incredible performers. Some music theory practices they utilize to make the songs more enticing: 1. Rhythmic dynamics: changing the macro and micro beat for each song 2. Harmonies: three and four part harmonies, creating cadences, and leading tones 3. Articulation: beat boxer is amazing, use clear staccato vowels and rests to add intrigue after melodic passages

I love the dynamic between you two! 😅 I enjoyed your break down of the interactions within the 3 main vocalists. It was fun hearing you try to NOT say "in sync" (for obvious reasons) yet it was the best phrase to sum it up. It's so true that they have very different styles as soloists yet when they harmonize together they are able to take on that Coral type of voice where you are one part of a whole and you're not trying to stand out. It's a beautiful thing that they are able to do. All three of them grew up as friends and met through Community Theater around the age of 10. The three main vocalist attempted to put together a new sound with acapella and popular music and used their voices as instruments in there later high school years. They arranged an amazing cover of "Telephone" by Lady Gaga that only required three voices and it was THAT video that pretty much grabbed people's attention and made "The Trio" realize that maybe this could be something big.

Rihanna is my poker music. :) PTX are one of my favourite acapella groups. I love Rihanna's diction - in many of her songs she moves between her Barbados patois and a more mainstream US RnB pronunciation. It adds a level of subtle variation to songs that really lift them up.
