Beautiful performance. And I always found fascinating how they manage to make such a powerful statement about respecting differences from a song tha basicly promotes the opposite. Creepy. Sounds like a cult.

Avi was my favorite PTX member to be honest. When he left, while I completely understood why, I was definitely sad. I can't really listen to them as much anymore because they just don't sound the same I guess to me without his element in there? This song though. I am suuuuuchh a sucker for Dissonance and resolves and it's just invokes so much emotion in me. Like I get chills the entire time and feel the desire to just cry from it, in a good way though, almost like I'm releasing pent up emotions that I didn't know I had? So phenomenal. ♥

That high note on "set me freeeeee" - I believe that is Kevin. He often does the highest harmony part. Same thing with Water and Imagine. He has a beautiful, clear falsetto. Many of their most choral pieces were written and arranged, at least in part, by Avi, including this one. I also love the dissonance they move in and out of so beautifully. The very last chord sounds to me like the song is ending on a question. I've heard others try and cover this, and it's never as pure.

@manutdfan18044 жыл бұрын
@@KhoiMVo all you have to do it listen. Sheet music doesn't tell you the whole story as to how one group sings. @@manutdfan1804 I've watched this video as well as multiple live performances multiple times and in my opinion there aren't any where it's CLEARLY Kevin. Their voices blend very well so I wouldn't blame anyone for debating or thinking it's him, and all of these comments even made me start to think I'm crazy and second guess myself lol. However someone else did share this video where I think you can pretty clearly hear it's Mitch, and you can even see him visibly move his body as he's resolving the chord. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKDRe4CCqZ1re7M There are multiple other videos where his movement is more subtle. This is one of my favorite pieces of theirs. The dissonance, Avi’s beautiful, breathtaking baseline, the way that they each other, the few moments when Mitch’s harmony and diction just radiate through, the way the whole song is a breath -a sigh that just expands and grows- and then starts collapsing with a capitulation of the chorus, and then ends with that brilliant release while they hum the last few bars.
