I stopped drinking 2006 and bought a digicamera with the money I saved first month, and started to make KZbin videos. Then I quitted smoking, eating out and built eventually whole homestudio. Once I had learned to live without consumeristic habbits, I left for travelling to see if I could survive as street artist. And I did. I just published a home-live-concert of 15 songs about the journey of 7 years at depending only on my own luck and blessings. My singing voice is now developing fast, thanks to tubers like you.

This is an excellent exercise! 👏🏾 Thank you for mentioning the nostril flare. Update: OMG! This is the Supreme exercise! Makes quick transitions to different songs so smooth. Always get that opening note perfectly!

With fry vocal it's easy to learn whistle register and subharmonics... great tool each vocalist should master. Thanks for your video

So glad I picked this video to watch today. Very helpful stuff about vocal fry. I'm a singer, and do my vocals and preparing to sing, or recording...there is a point where spiritual musical energy interacts with our physical body. And Tyler is right in saying that 'the philosophy' you sing to is how you will sing. Singing from our anus works. You can't go much deeper than that! Good luck to all!

Excellent motivational speech, you said it like it was. I would love more structured exercises to learn how to use fry in my singing (just a beginner; singing is part of my recovery from workaholism, it brings me joy!)

Thank you so much for the explanation…I was trying so hard to practice my vocal fry in head voice but I knew I was doing something wrong because I kept having pain and I lost my voice. Your explanation helped me soooooo much, thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

The voice teachers pointing this out where right. I couldn't see the connection immediatly, but it's amazing, how preserving the sensation of vocal fry and going up, you end up in mixed voice! A related exercise I like is starting with strohbass, making it as thick/chesty as possible and then transitioning up into mixed voice with that coordination. I feel like this helps me to get more "weight" and resonance into my mixed voice while keeping it effortless.

So sorry you have been struggling with MTD! I’ve dealt with similar things too. Flow phonation has saved me.
@idaniellane2 жыл бұрын
@@tylerwysong what is flow phonation??👀 The doctor gave me exercises that are lead by air rather than fry. I was doing pop exercises for a while that were fry driven and I loved them but the underlying muscle tension caught up and whipped my butt 🥴 relearning literally everything
@tylerwysong2 жыл бұрын
@@idaniellane Yes! Vocal fry can def lead to pressed phonation. So be very cautious if you use it with your situation.

Tyler …… great teaching. I love that you are focussing on Mixed Voice. I find it irritating when you edit the video. Visually, it is distracting when your hands jump and your body suddenly moves from one position to another. It’s like a song that jumps out of time. That’s just my personal feedback. I love your teachings.
