this specific style of throat singing isn´t that hard to learn actually. it is called "kargyraa" you can find some useful tutorials on youtube but what helped me the most about this specific aspect of screaming was the way this dude describes it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqKwlpWiotyEpKM

Great way of doing it man. I actually learned how to get it even lower with the throat singing and got the highs down the beginning of the year as well.

i think this is very interesting. I know how to do this type of technique as well, but I've kind of abandoned it because i could never get it completely comfortable. I used to mimic trivium with it haha, the constipated sound is perfect for it. But it's interesting how distorted vocals seem to have a layer of pitch which is entirely independent of the underlying voice. Same for when I do more standard gurle burgle "false cord"-style vocals, except it's the opposite. There, the actual note underneath all the gravel is actually quite low, even when I do a higher scream. The perceived pitch is completely manufactured from the distortion.

There are mixes of Blackwater Park that are really eye opening. You can hear Mikael just solo and you hear all of the details and how his voice isn't going THAT deep

I found this really useful. The first vid I ever saw of you was a Berzerker cover of 'Forever'. I knew you were fucking cool because you were the only person on KZbin that had covered it lol. Maybe do a vid explaining the technique you used for it? They were fucking raw dude I thought you were doing damage, I don't know if it's because you were smoking more or what but it sounded like your cords were blending broken glass in your throat it was nuts. Keep up the good work 😎
@finowa5 жыл бұрын
Ha, thanks man! It was probably a combination of a starter's bad technique combined with a starter's bad gear. There definitely is some kind of appeal to that kind of rawness, but I really can't listen to my early shit without cringing :)

That Tuvan throat singing is called throat bass by some and it has been mastered by some not only in metal, but also by new school beatboxers. It’s become more popular since this guy Reeps One from England if you wanna check him out he is also great at it. Thanks for sharing this video dude it was great!
