This is a lot better than the other vocal exercises I've been doing for years.

Thank you soo much for this very authentic information video!! ❤️❤️I am working on speaking up more from not having done so since a little girl , not being able to speak up my truth. I am now ready to step into my purpose and use my voice to touch the lives of the women I am meant to touch . Thank you 🙏🏼 I will practice this as often as I can to remove my blocks of speaking up

I love singing but my voice sense like a war cry to me. I just know coz I did this yoga during childhood in India. And you are hearing your own voice when the text sounds like inference to you 😊
@laurachase4 жыл бұрын
🤣 that with the war cry I can definitely relate too my voice sounded like that to me too! You should have heard my voice 10 years ago it was either too quiet and high pitched or to loud and shrill and not very easy to listen too. But let’s say years of training pay off in the end 🤗

Hey I did this for the first time today & felt really good. Just wanted to ask, I generally speak too fast & wanna lower my speed, what exercise should I do, also what are the benefits of this exercise shown in this video ?
@laurachase2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jinal Gala I’m so glad you felt good after doing the exercises! To your questions For slowing down speech I would recommend taking a breath somewhere at the beginning when you start to talk so start to talk then take a short break to breathe and then talk again and continue! The breath in between will remind you of yourself and your body and will help to stop rushing speech. There are several benefits to doing the exercises in the video! For example it’s a slow and gentle warm up for your Voice which prepares the vocal muscles for use and stretches the vocal folds themselves into a lighter more flexible register which helps for more efficient vocal production afterwards! Most adult people only use their speaking voice register and don’t change up the sounds they make so changing it up a bit and getting the vocal folds to vibrate with a different modality keeps your vocal folds healthy flexible and the less used muscles of your larynx stronger Also with age and not enough use the vocal muscles weaken over time! Doing the exercises in the video work against that effect so that your voice keeps being strong and flexible 💪🏽☀️ keep up the good work Jinal

Maam could u give some advices for get rid of my childish voice. I'm 21 year old girl and It will be a great help for me.
@laurachase6 ай бұрын
Sure work on developing a sense for how high or low your larynx is when you lower it /as you would when yawning you can practice speak with a lower larynx which will make your voice sound deeper und less childish for sure but it takes great deal of time to retrain the speaking voice so don’t ne discouraged if your old voice will continue to return and it is a matter of becoming aware and then practice some more eventually your voice will adopt new muscle memory and then it will become easier over time but the whole process can take years just to warn you 💜

I can’t feel the vibration behind my neck… is that normal?
@laurachase19 күн бұрын
Hey Viviana that is normal and ok but the more you practice having a relaxed neck muscles and the strong and more freely your vocal folds vibrate the more you’ll feel vibrations in the neck and head and chest depending on the frequency of the tone 💜

Hi, if you have vocal nodules will these exercises help them?
@laurachase3 жыл бұрын
Hey Claire, If you have vocal nodules it is best to have a voice recovery specialist looking after you and guiding the recovery process your ENT doctor should be able to give you a recommendation! But if for any reason you don’t have the resources to have a Voice clinic or specialist looking after you generally you can heal nodules step 1. Rest your Voice from extensive use (loud or too much talking/singing /screaming/belting Chest voice ) At least a few weeks up to 2 month Hydrate drink enough water! Step 2 if your ENT doc gives the ok after looking at the cords you can start with recovery exercises getting some flexibility back we are talking falsetto voice quiet head voice exercises humming etc. Google „SOVT exercises“ (straw technique) those are great fro recovering the voice step 3 You wanna work daily or regularly on exercises that train a quiet and high flexible voice this is good for the tissue and trains the vocal mechanism Step 4 you wanna be aware of improving your breath support using less air when singing If you only speak be aware of how much extrinsic tension you use in your throat is it open and relaxed or tight and squeezed ? I can’t prescribe or diagnose anyone but these principles can be researched by anyone and that’s what I’d suggest you 🤗 Let me know if it’s any good for you most exercises of this video should be appropriate after a rest phase for the voice

why do female pop dancers singers breathe out in on mic live and in studio between phrases? how do you calm heavy mouth breathing down post concert for female pop singer dancer?
@laurachase2 жыл бұрын
Well if they dance it requires more oxygen…. So they have to breathe more when they are active it’s like trying to not breathe but when you are jogging it’s not doable for very long! But nonetheless it can be trained to breathe out through the nose or avoid breathing in the microphone! Breathing between phrases can be come more silent through what I also described in the video but you can’t get rid of it completely

Madam, do you have any exercise to coordinate brain and vocal cord.. I cant express my thought into words fast
@laurachase2 жыл бұрын
Hey there 🤗 sure it may sound a bit strange but you could try using a metronome a timed beat where you try to talk in a certain speed and then you increase the tempo gradually! To make it more easy you Can read something from a page and then you can just try to say anything without thinking about it! It’s ok if it doesn’t make any sense but the trick is to do it in a certain tempo and then increasing it and the best trick is to do it over and over and over again the more you practice the more you fail at it the faster you’ll get better! X
