Sakamoto Days is a Weekly Shonen Jump manga about a retired assassin named Taro Sakamoto, who runs a small shop in the center of Japan, and just wants to live a happy life with his wife with his past behind him, but isn’t able to as the assassin world comes knocking on his door again, leading to him taking on a student and having to dive back into the world of constant battling against memorable and often quirky assassins that all have unique weapons and ridiculous abilities. There’s no one in this manga that can fire a Ki Blast or anything like that, but it takes the John Wick Formula and dials it to 11, with characters that can literally slice buildings in half with their swords, and high octane, high action content that takes a break to remind you of it’s amazing emotional core to keep you caring beyond the bloodshed. in the most recent arc. a person lit a cigerrete by drifting a motor cycle below a truck so much that it sparks and ultimately lit the cigerrete the person did it while dodging bullets and destroyed vehicles. That scene was awesome and I can't wait for it to be animated.
