Apart of that is due to the fact that, in Christian ideology, while humanity, those created in the image of God, have been granted the gift of forgiveness from sins by grace through faith, the same cannot be said for angels. Depending upon the doctrine, they're in a one-strike you're out situation (though technically that singular divergent path in the story has already taken place, but I digress). And yes, it is strict, to the point where if you even think angry thoughts about a person you commit murder in the eyes of the Lord. So, yes, for all intents and purposes it is impossible without forgiveness. Again, this is speaking from a specific Christian viewpoint and does not encompass how every denomination views it.

My personal theory about Hazbin is that Alastor is helping Charlie because he wants to see her fail. In the pilot, Alastor says he doesn't believe that sinners or demons can be redeemed, but he's helping Charlie for personal reasons, those reasons being that he's bored and thinks it'd be entertaining to watch some people try to climb their way to redemption, only to fall back down 'into the firey pit of failure". But Alastor gives off the personality of someone who doesn't really like cheap thrills, like Angel Dust. The first couple of sinners falling down would be good for a chuckle or two, but not enough to scratch whatever itch Alastor has. Instead, I think he's giving Charlie help so that eventually, Charlie will find the entire cause hopeless and give up.

I think (and not to say you're wrong or anything) that Alastor is doing it to get to Charlie and her parents, Lucifer and Lilith. He's just been taking out overlords and broadcasts his carnage and power for all to see, right? That weird magic aura he radiated when Charlie turned around while accepting his help offer and the fact that he wanted to link her with a deal (like he probably did with Husker and Nifty, who he can summon at will) is pretty telling to me. I think he wants to take the Magne family out too, and REALLY spread some fear. Did you see how he was looking at her family portrait and how he targets Vaggie (who also acts as Charlie's bodyguard)? Hella sus, my guy.

We know he's serious when he says "that's just a theory ", but at the end of the day a good theory needs to have good evidence. And his evidence for Alastor's connection to Bill Cypher is horrible at best. The problem isn't that we think that he thinks his theory is correct or cannon, the problem is that his theory is just a bad theory. Just in case since tone is hard to read from text. I do not mean to say that he should get hate or anything like that for that mini theory. Just that (non-aggressive) criticism of that mini theory is well deserved.

I mean, it did drastically change the death rates, no mistake on that. All screwed up thoughts aside, covid-19 really is horrid. Even in the face of numbers, each loss of life affected another. I'm guessing he held back on mentioning it since it is such a heavy subject, and not just because of KZbin guidelines. Going over the statistics tends to draw a lot of unwanted and unneeded bad thoughts, usually surrounding the politics of the virus instead of its actual effect on the world.

Matt!! Here's a theory for ya! In the song "You Didn't Know" Adam writes three things that make someone worthy of going to Heaven. Be Selfless Don't Steal Stick it to the man At the end of said song Emily picks up said note and tells Charlie she will figure something out to help. I believe she somehow made this note into a contract. Which is why Sir Pentious went to Heaven. He was selfless, he never stole except when he took a part of Alastor's jacket which he gave back, and he stuck it to the literal man the first man Adam. I believe in season two this will be revealed as exactly what happened.

@Kyle Joseph I mean, yeah it’s going to get views and there are lots of KZbinrs who care about views. And I have no doubt that Matpat and Film Theory care about views, but I also believe that he cares more about the audience that requested this film theory over the views themselves. You can choose yourself to believe what their intentions might be or not. As for the content in Hazbin Hotel regarding going against religious views, and hence making it more popular by the algorithm I can’t really speak for. But if KZbin is the one who makes the algorithm possible for the show to be showcased than that’s on KZbin. People who are upset with the content enough that they cannot simultaneous disagree with the views portrayed and still appreciate the art, work, and time put into the animation can make their own decision on watching the show. But it certainly helps animators and artist on KZbin when a well known channel like Film Theory gives them exposure, and as many people in the art industry have seen for KZbin given the algorithm as it is, it is very difficult for animators to be seen because it gets washed by other more mainstream content. On a personal note: I know that it may not mean much on a grander scale for artist to be debuted as a feature for a popular KZbin channel, but as someone who tries to see the positivity in everything, this makes me excited. As stated I’m a fan of the show, as well as Film theory, and an animator so it makes me happy to see the things that I enjoy to get attention that I believe it merits. Say what you will on the content of the show, as an animation is SUPER polished and refine. And for that alone it gets my animation feels all tingly and excited. Thank you for your opinion Kyle. It’s good to have conversations like this, even though I respectfully disagree with you on the possible intentions of the published video by Matpat. Have a wonderful day wherever you are! 😊

If you read the Angel Dust's comic, Charlie is trying to show that redemption is possible using Angel Dust, not to rehabilitate a large quantity of demons. By showing redemption is possible, she can get more support from anybody else initially skeptical of her goal. Also, it is Immediate Murder Professionals, it is literally in their jingle.
