Chris, get a garage sale crock pot. Then find Wood Bleach at a hardware store or woodworker's supply. On low heat with a solution of wood bleach and water cook those clusters for some time and watch the other material cook out leaving the quartz clean as a whistle. Wood bleach is oxylic acid and will eat away that hard clay material that crystals grow in without eating the quartz and host rock they can grow on. You will have to experiment about what heat and how much time based upon your area, but it is the best and easiest way to clean those clusters. I have had some that soaked in cold water for a month and never got clean but in a crock pot on low they cleaned up in a day or less. Naturally I say a cheap garage sale one because after using acid in them, I would not use them for anything else. Oxylic acid is a weak acid but still not something I want to eat.

Since you also like agates there are also some limestone caves that are not mapped specifically well and have not been blocked off, over near The boarder of vic and new south whales about 2 hours north of Buchan and the massive stalagmites are just incredible there are so many Agates on the ground it’s just amazing I have been there many times it’s just the extreme 4 wheel drive tracks you have to take to get in there.

You're a smart man, Chris. I started watching your channel for the educational value, and while I was still learning something every video you made, it was diminishing returns. Love the new direction, while also knowing I can re watch the older stuff any time, and most likely still learn something I missed the first time round.

Splitting the dacks first up, but who's worried when you're pulling out lovely crystals, hey. It was so great, Chris, Gadzee and Kyle, seeing three chillaxed temperament individuals get together so easily and dig holes for really nice gems. When you're in a tight hole in company, cracking jokes is best to break the tension ahead of anyone breaking wind. While there's bulk of any type of precious or semi-precious stone, it's the rarity factors that really count, colour, clarity, that aren't found with those giant examples seen on TV recently, nor in bags for twenty bucks at the market, what ends up used in making jewellery. Cheers for a cool Yule and happy new year ahead, inspirations aplenty ahead. 👍🤙🪙✌️

You have cactus 🌵 in Australia? Looked like a prickly pear in some of the shots.
@gabivalla6279
@gabivalla6279 25 күн бұрын
It had been an invasive species over vast areas of Australia, numbers of other types of cactus that made their way to Victoria Australia by the California '49ers, not the sports team, but folk from 1849 coming for our gold in 1851+. The pears taste okay and the cactus can be prepared and cooked, though I'd hate to gag on a prickle cluster.

You should try Mortlake Victoria for peridot inside a type of geode found during scoria mining
@gabivalla6279
@gabivalla6279 25 күн бұрын
We'd found one at our high school in Springvale, grey scoria boulder and seemed strange for being much heavier than you'd think, inside mostly tight-packed but crumbled peridot, but a few larger pieces, and the local indigenous story of mountains throwing rocks at each other turns out right by the geological actions figured at 20,000 years ago, along with small volcanoes at Berwick which were the source for most of the laid ballast under most of Victoria's rail tracks. Cheers for the tip with Mortlake and peridot.

There is an Amethyst mine in Ontario Canada that you can pick them off a public area right off the ground. Then you can buy them by the pound , Spent less than $5 for a ziplock bag that i chose/picked. Very purple.

I want to apologize up front and I really don’t want to insult Kyle, BUT I‘m painfully reminded of Prince Harry when looking at him, wondering if Meghan Markle let him out or if he fled to Australia, looking for his new fortune. Are you sure his name is Kyle? In the US people are wondering why nobody hears from them anymore😂😂😂 I will not tell anybody. Your secret is safe, specially on YT.
