Show idea … short interviews, of each of you (Chris, Mick, and Gadz) Sample questions: 1) What drew you to prospecting and mining as a hobby? How long ago? 2) In your opinion, is the hobby growing, shrinking or static? 3) What would make the hobby even better or more enjoyable for the hobbyist (better equipment, more areas open to prospecting, etc?). 4) Do you have any words of wisdom for newbies?

Love the reminder you give that prospecting is not about making money… and the comparison was perfect. Though I’m still putting kids through school and working full time… finally bought a pan and classifier over summer, to make sure I eventually take the kids ( and myself) out and about. Love your work, and the fact you’ve looked critically at what you love doing, and changed. Great job. And from my Boxer to yours… keep chasing those butterflies, and don’t worry about what is in the way!!!

Sweden has places where you can learn how to pan gold, and aluvial gold to be found in streams and creeks ... Guess it`s funnier to go for the bigger gold found in AU. but for the starters !!!! have a great day

Nip across from Hirtsals to Kristiansand on the supercat, get into Rogaland, Norway and you're on the gold. Plus, I would seriously explore Denmark as used to find it around Kiel in Germany and near the Danish border when I lived in Fallingbostel.

@@r0b1975 I remember reading about a gravel pit owner that has recovered gold in Southern Jutland, but not in commercial quantities, just some fine dust a glacier brought down from Sweden.

I just bought one of those adventure sluice for in South Carolina. It's where the first gold rush was before the miners went to California. I only have found flour gold but I love it
@MadMarlin1964 Жыл бұрын
Actually South Carolina gold was officially discovered in 1827(?), but gold was already being mined about 20 years before with the Reed mine in North Carolina. Also Georgia was pillaged from the Cherokee for the gold there about 1829 where the second US Mint was opened there. Of course the Mint only lasted as long as the gold did.

I'm from the Netherlands and i was coincidently in New Zealand at the same time as you (during the floods). I was close to the wahii Martha goldmine at the gold museum they ASSURED me that i would not find any gold in the creeks near waihi! (north island) I tried close to the oldtimers Stamper batteries wich is a pretty tourist like area and found 9 specs in the creek with at least 3 hours of gold panning. I was happy as a kid and showd locals my fiendings! they laughed and send me to the south island and laughed some more. Yet i was on my way to prove the lady at the gold museum wrong nd get my justice haha! Best gold panning experience i ever got.
