It's interesting to see voice actors change and evolve the character, in my country characters like the Looney Tunes, or Disney characters rarely ever change voice actors. Tweety and Sylvester have had the same ones since the 90's.

Anyone remember how in the 90's, you couldn't escape merchandise of Tweety specifically marketed to girls down to the fact they dressed him up as one on occasion? Clearly, that popularity was why they had the Mysteries cartoon. But for a while there was just so much Taz, Tweety, and Marvin the Martian stuff out there. I think 90% of my T-shirts I wore back then were Taz related.

I'm going to try something different and rank each Tweety voice individually. 1. Mel - can't beat the original. 2. Jeff - a great recreation. 3. Bob - very good as well. 4. Bauza - good, but I feel like he'll be even better if they pitch him up a notch or two. 5. Joe - same as the last one. A little low for Tweety, but still solid. 6. Greg - good for a cameo. 7. Billy - decent. 8. Goldberg - perfectly serviceable. 9. Sam - fine for a baby Tweety. 10. Tom - weird how they had him do a vampire voice, when I'm sure he could do a traditional Tweety take just fine. Also, I think Chris Phillips would work pretty well too.

As with just about any Looney Tunes voice, I still consider Mel Blanc’s version the best. Of course, it did require some speed manipulation to pull off, but Mel had such good comedic timing with this and his other Looney Tunes roles that it’s hard not to enjoy. Of the post-Blanc voices, the ones that sound the closest are Bergen, Bauza, and Burson. The problem with most of the other voices is that they just sound too old for Tweety, probably due to a lack of proper speed manipulation. Alaskey’s voice especially suffers from lack of proper speed manipulation, as his voice sounds basically like Bugs talking with Tweety’s speech. Probably my last favorite is Goldberg; he tried his best and at least in Back in Action it sounds like they properly sped it up, but he has more lines in Superior Duck and you can tell that it’s quite off there. Usually I don’t like to talk about the younger voices because it just doesn’t make much sense to rank them against an older version of the character, but I think Sam Vincent does deserve some credit for actually managing to sound closer to the original Tweety than the ones that tend to sound too old. My ranking (excluding Vincent. Also excluding Kenny since his version wasn’t so much “Tweety” as “Tweety turned into a vampire”): 1. Mel Blanc 2. Bob Bergen 3. Eric Bauza 4. Greg Burson 5. Jeff Bergman 6. Billy West 7. Joe Alaskey 8. Eric Goldberg

Did Jeff Bergman improve a bit on Tweety when he voiced him on The Looney Tunes Show compared to Tiny Toons?
@talkaboutcinema33044 жыл бұрын
I suppose he does capture the childish tone a bit better on The Looney Tunes Show than he did on Tiny Toon Adventures, but it still sounds like Tweety is too old there (then again, they did have that episode where he met Granny back in World War II, so I suppose that makes sense).
