I watched her on American Idol. When she sang Celine's "I Surrender," with laryngitis no less, that was the moment I went, "Hold on, she is It." I still remember Randy's comment (not word for word, but the gist): "We always tell people not to try to sing Whitney, Mariah, or Celine, because those are the three big females and most people will flop hard, but you just sang the hell out of that Celine song."

I absolutely loved this cover! Kelly Clarkson is a true vocalist and can sing just about anything (and do it extremely well)! She’s one of the few that should tackle a Celine Dion song. She nailed it! 💜 Also, I like how you mentioned that she didn’t add a whole bunch of runs and fluff; she just sang the song. Kelly oftentimes does exactly that & does it beautifully! Runs and stuff are great, but you don’t necessarily have to have them if you can sing like Kelly can & convey the emotion of the song in the way she does. Occasionally she’ll get fancy with a song and do more, but she doesn’t do it a lot. I kinda like that about her. She never oversings.

That very last "my heart will go on, and on.." is just sublime. I really wish she does a cover album of all the songs she's covered. I like singers I like covering songs I like too, and this has always been on the list too, and it finally happened. The only other singer I can think of, or that I know for that are as versatile as her with doing cover is a Chinese singer name 周深(ZhouShen), his English name is Charlie. He's done a cover of this song too. I hope you can do a dissect of his performance too. Because I really like the way you dissect them instead of just saying it sounds like this or that, and saying it sounds good, and it would be interesting if you dissect his mandarin songs too from someone who doesn't grow up in that culture. And I like how you explained it with demonstration, it helps understanding how he the singer is singing. In case you read this, if maybe you choose to do a video on Charlie, this song might be a good start, because it's a song you're very familiar with. He was a bit under the weather then, his pronunciation is actually pretty good, he's known to sing songs in many languages. If I'm being nit picky, the enunciation isn't quite clear enough, but really much better than most who doesn't speak English natively. There its a bit of vocalising of the melody at the end that was a bit odd for me, but other than that, where the song is, it's also another version I'd listen to over and over. But if you're choose to do a video of his mandarin songs, his most well known song is 大魚(BigFish), other than that there are just too many that are really good. 光亮(TheLight) is another.I don't know the technicality but he was classically trained as tenor, although his vocal range is actually a counter tenor, and he has sung more classical songs like 灯火里的中国(China in the Lights), and the song that really made him went kinda viral was probably, 达拉崩吧(DaLaBengBa) because it's so different from his usually style. He's sung Time to Say Goodbye, Lonely gathered from the Sound of Music, and Memory from the musical Cats too. I really hope you can at least do 1 video on 1 of his performance.

I REALLY like Kelly. She’s SO good. However, Celine is just another level. Truly. Hearing someone as good as Kelly sing it really highlights the depth in Celine’s voice, especially in the quieter parts. Great singer. Great technique. It just feels robotic. I don’t feel any emotion from this performance. When Celine sings this song is like you go in another dimension. Kelly did a beautiful job tho. The little “cry” when she belts is kinda unnecessary and it may sound strained but it’s not.
