I’m a true 80s baby and I remember my mom had this LP so I grew up on this song and Jennifer Holiday (we also had the Dreamgirls OBCA and listened to it so much that we knew every song before seeing even a single second of the play). Composition is classic David Foster, & was also produced by the legendary late Maurice White. Jennifer has her own greatness of personal sound, style, subtleties & power. They had to have And I Am telling You just before intermission in Dreamgirls, otherwise she would’ve stopped the show every night. Got to see her in Color Purple musical on Broadway about 6 years ago or so, in the role of Shug Avery….’Sistaaa….🎶’. Of course she’s physically transformed over the years, & is known to share that she can’t really relate to singing the Dreamgirls piece anymore because it’s so connected to the role & the character as a larger size woman. So grateful for Ms. Holiday. Oh I have a friend that worked with her in the band for a performance & mentioned that she ‘s very kind and handles her business smoothly. Sorry to let you know but you have to fix your sound settings... The video volume is too dim and your microphone volume is EXTREMELY HIGH that it feels like you're piercing my freakin Ears..!! Of all the videos you have, this is the one I enjoyed THE LEAST... And please, listen to at least 1/3 or 1/2 the song before you cut it because you're killing half the magic of it... This time is thumbs down. Horrible sound quality too. She sounds dull with no E.Q. setting and your voice shrills my ears because is probably no pro mic but a set of earpods..
