Coming across this reaction a year later and truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life was the American leg of this tour. I went to one of the shows just after Annette left, and knew nothing about Floor. Any reservations i had about them losing yet another female vocalist were gone the moment she began. She was larger than life and just worked so well with the entire band, and she only got better through the show. I was hoping so hard that she would remain with the band after the tour was over, because she was still a temporary member at that point. Every time i see one of these reaction videos I'm brought back to that show and remember how almost overwhelming it all was. Floor is amazing.

Love the fact that you called her smart. As I much as I have huge respect for her technique, her talent, her power, the thing I love th e most about her is what I would call her "sing-wise intelligence". She know the songs perfectly, not only the lyrics but their meaning, she know exactly what she's singing about, at every second of the song, which allow her to always pick into the vast amount of styles and technique she can use the one that's perfect for that phrase, that line, that word. Everything she does, every twist she puts, every time she had a little grit or a little operatic here and there, it serves a purpose, it serves the song, it serves her interpretation, she never showing off just for the sake of it, she does crazy things but she does them 'cause that helps her interpretation.

Thank you for doing another Floor/Nightwish reaction! I've been waiting for this. I love to hear professional singing teachers give me more information on some of the nuances of Floor's singing style. But I also agree that choosing exactly WHICH songs are best to review Floor's style is difficult, as part of her talent is to mix so many different styles between different songs. Hopefully, as time goes by,, you will have a chance to review some of Floor's SOLO efforts, which can be broken down into three categories: 1) the "Beste Zangers" series; 2) her solo recordings done from her home during Covid ("Adagio" of Lara Fabian, "Alone" of Heart, "Oblivion" from the movie with Tom Cruise, "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen"); and 3) the recent "Sing Meinen Song" TV special from Germany. (Also Floor has recently released two solo efforts: "Fire" and "Storm"). With the greatest of respect (hey, everybody gets to put in at least ONE request!), may I beseechingly request the first song from the "Sing Meinen Song" series: the cover of singer Clueso called "Zu Schnell Vorbei" (in English: "Over Too Quickly"). It's not available on KZbin but only on VOX: see www.vox.de/cms/sing-meinen-song-clueso-hit-als-metal-song-damit-blaest-nightwish-frontfrau-floor-jansen-alle-weg-4959246.html. It is a great technical performance by Floor, with a great ending where all the singers hug and kiss one another at the success of Floor's performance --- a really joyous celebration of the craft of singing for singing's sake! I'm sure you will love it!

NEVER a problem for Nightwish fans to pause, & rewind, If you pause you need to. I loved your reaction, we feel the joy too. An interesting fact is this was Floor’s first concert as a permanent member of the band, & it had not been announced yet. It was announced later in the year with the release of their newest album. She had replaced the bands 2nd singer in mid October, 2012, on a tour in the US. They called her, she had to learn this enormous set list in 48 hours. They did a documentary on this , called “Please Learn the Set List in 48hours”. She was just coming out of an extended period of a burn out, which she speaks to in interviews. She had her own band, was writing the music, lead singer, did about everything, when that happened. She is an amazing person, beyond the best singer to me in my lifetime, at least singing the music I love. If you want some Floor only, she did some great vocals on a TV Show, Beste Zangers.2019, which included a couple of versions of Shallow, & Phantom of the Opera, is a must hear.

The songs at Wacken 2013 were written before Floor joined the band. She added a lot to several songs. That classical bit was originally a pre-recorded choir in the background. The end of Ghost Love Score wasn't even in the original. If you want to hear a gritty Floor with a little growling try 'Yours is an Empty Hope' live at Wembley. She recently kicked off a side solo career with two songs so far. I recommend 'Storm'. You can do the official music video or a live version at HLF8. This is not her Nightwish voice being used. The genre is called 'Floor' 😊🤘

I don't think you should feel bad for pausing, or to talk even more about the technical things you notice. You're a voice teacher, after all. If people just want to watch someone make wow faces without any pausing or analysis, there are plenty of reaction channels that offer that. It's also so nice to see a voice teacher recognize all the little things that Floor does in her performances. She's amazing at using dynamics, vocal colors, phrasing, and vocal effects as tools to aid storytelling. She also mostly uses epiglottal twang in her belting and relatively little nasopharyngeal "twang", so her belts tend to be less super bright sounding than they are for a lot of singers (though she does occasionally use both when she feels a song moment calls for it). Keep up the good work!

oh it's really a pleasure to watch you enjoy Nightwish music with our vocal godess Floor Jansen; as a vocal coach you sure will appreciate the acoustic version of 'How's the heart' or the song 'Shoemaker' from the last album 'Human Nature. You can listen to the lyric video or they just did a real good LIVE performance at 'Hellfest' in France; you find it on YT. Keep them coming. 🐺🐺😎😎

We are hear to listen to what you have to say regarding Floor's amazing technique as well as your comments on her wonderful and varied vocal timbres and colors. Loved it! Especially that big beautiful smile that started at the beginning and continued until the very ending! Hope to see you again very soon.🙏 So much more to hear from Floor's vocal stylings and storytelling talents.

First time visiting your reaction channel.....and it was joyous!! Really cheered me up no end after s**t day - the huge smile literally all the way through said it all. Please, do not stop pausing and giving your honest thoughts, its what we are here for.

This concert was one of those rare nights when everything aligns, the Moon smiles, the Gods bless, the Norns pull the strings of Wyrd and it was a blessed thing that it was all so well recorded so we can enjoy it all of lives. Great reaction! I look forward to your next!

And .... none of the songs at Wacken were written for Floor but for Tarja or Annette ....... if you didn't know that ..... well, she did an awesome job! Btw. I liked your (big smile) reaction. Yes, you are awesome too 😉. Btw2. When Floor was asked to step in halfway Nightwish's Tour in 2012, she had to learn the complete setlist in 48 hours (also a KZbin video).
@MisterJ562 жыл бұрын
@@TheVocalyst Yes, she did. There are several documentaries (approx. 2 hours long) where Floor is telling how she got involved/being asked to help out the band during their US-tour when the second singer (Annette Olzon) had to go to the hospital with (I think) a severe flue. Floor got the phonecall from Tuomas on her sister’s weddingday and she sat the day after on the plane ….. learning the setlist in 48 hours!

I am so happy that you have chosen Storytime! I'm loving your reactions! no problems at all with the pausing, do as many as you think is right! It is, and it is going to be, an absolute joy to watch your reactions to Nightwish and Floor's separate performances!! Thank you for this one!! ... Next I suggest Ever Dream from the same concert!!

your smile watching them is so nice, and please, pause all you want, I really appreciate the information you give about the techniques Floor uses. It helps a lot to someone who doesn't have great knowledge about this and just enjoys the band. Also, can I selfishly ask you to react to "Ever Dream" wacken 2013? that one is probably my other favorite song from this spectacular concert besides this.

Literally was listening to this song while passing through the Rocky Mountains in Canmore Alberta - during a lightning storm, on about the same day this was posted. Hitting Floor’s operatic bridge, while lightning is flashing all around you - I highly recommend it!!!

Found your channel just an hour ago. Love your reactions and that you share the appreciation for Nightwish and Floor with us. When I first discovered Nightwish I was completely in awe, I recognise a lot in the way you react to them. To appreciate Floor from a different perspective may I recommend 'Valley of the queens' from Ayreon. Floor singing together with two other great dutch metal vocalists, Anneke and Marcella!

Your face just lights up as you watch this amazing woman perform. You obviously recognize the talent that you've discovered ... a voice teacher's dream, an example that you can use to demonstrate the techniques you are teaching. Welcome to Nightwish ... stop listening to them at your own pleasure peril. Every song is an epic journey and are new and fresh, no repetition or derivative songs. Tuomas is the greatest composer of my lifetime, in my opinion. I know you're focused on the vocals, but you did mention aspects of the composition. You are watching six musical geniuses come together to create a collection of near perfect music. I have to laugh at your shy "one more time" ... as if you think we don't want to hear it again too!! hahahaha. New sub! Enjoy!

Great to have you back with Nightwish! It’s nice to listen to everything you hear about their performance and singing. If you take their next song from the same Wacken 2013 concert, “Everdream,” you’ll hear a little glimpse of how their bassist uses his voice. Floor sings, but the bassist has three small moments during the song.

It is satisfying to see someone appreciate Nightwish from the get go. Floor absolutely killed it at Wacken 2013, the whole band did! Beautiful music with near perfect execution. The magic of that night is historic in my opinion. The stamina to churn out each song so brilliantly is a feat that may never be duplicated.

For high belting power, Everdream. For more control jumping through registers and navigating complex melody, How's the Heart. For something completely different, Yours is an Empty Hope, followed by Romanticide. Ghost River for more Marko and Floor together. And by then, you will be wanting a whole lot more Marko, so Islander and While Your Lips are Still Red are must listens .

I loved it that you paused so much. Please don't be sorry. This is the effect that Floor has on you... I'd not heard of Floor or Nightwish 5 months ago and decided to see what all the fuss is about after hearing things about them and OMG I'm so glad that I did. A beautiful reaction. Thank you. Paul 😊👍
