My favorite wrist exercise at the moment is isolation on the bottom block (which is pulled like rowing machine). It has leg rests on it and I use them as a forearm rest for isolation and pure wrist work. The weight there is 1 to 1, my handle allows for perfect spacing and the load vector goes exactly into the diagonal of the knuckles, a constant load on the wirst in isolation. And the amplitude from a clear straight wrist as you get in competitions, its very important.

Hello coach, love your work! When I do this excercise and it starts getting heavy, I can feel something in my wrist popping when doing the eccentric phase in the movement. @DylanFowler3 жыл бұрын
On the eccentric, save a bit of extra grip strength for it, and focus through your lower hand to then control both sides of the wrist. That way build up the balancing muscles on the sides of the wrists for steady hands. I would also recommend doing work on the rings, this really helps wrist and hand balance.
@R.J223 жыл бұрын
@@DylanFowler thank you for answer. My problem is as I said in the eccentric phase but it is also in the dynamic phase. It pops when the weight is going up and pops back again before the bottom, when the wrist is almost straight.

You know I thought at first it was little strange you guys didn't tighten up the weights all the way, I don't know if that was intentional but for what you are training for I'd say that's actually a pretty good idea. Helps build stability in the wrists at various angles.
@shakya00 Жыл бұрын
It is made purposefully. Indeed working on the stability of the wrist/hand is great for Armwrestling. Hence why Armwrestlers sometimes even use...barbells to do wrist curls, single hand wrist curls. Never saw this variation until recently tho. Between a barbell and a dumbbell wrist curl in terms of instability.

Why do it with your arm bent like that? Ex. 2:59 the shoulder is parallel to the floor, but in a match that might be in a losing position instead of starting position. And for a newbie like me, it feels like I'd injure my elbow

Am I wrong in saying that by leaving the locks loose and letting the weights be able to roll on the bar, it makes this 100% easier? I know when I secure the locks so the weights are fixed to the bar, this movement becomes significantly harder with the same weight
