That mall is where Layne has his pattycake Procuctions studio. Layne first showed off his violin skills in Warriors, as did J.None, and got the name Violayne. He also brought it out on Nothing Else Matters. This video needs to be seen many times to concentrate on each bit, J's faces, the dances, the animals, and ot course the singing. It's the most fun they've ever had I think. Glad you loved it.

For more of VioLayne check out VP's Warriors (there's an extra little surprise in that one) and Nothing Else Matters. Both of those have J. None in it. I don't care what some people say, I still very much consider him part of the group. He's just on a Naval Choir sabbatical. And I love J and Cesar's voices together so much, I have a playlist devoted to songs they're both in, as well as their first performances with Voiceplay. And in J. None's case, the last song he did with them before going off to the Naval Choir (who ASKED HIM to sing with them-that's a big honor)!

This was supposed to be a mini, but Layne was having too much fun with the arrangement that he made it a regular length piece. Layne and Tony Wakim (former baritone) own PattyCake Productions which is located in this mall. They store a lot of their stuff there so it's handy. In the past, when they needed an extra high soprano, their friend Elizabeth Garozzo sang it. She is always credited when she is there, and there is nothing naming her. We have to believe it's really Cesar. Elizabeth was with them in their version of In The Hall Of The Mountain King.

Pattycake Productions is located in the mall. It's a professional studio owned and run by Layne Stein (beatbox, baritone, VioLayne) and Tony Watkins (former VP baritone). Seven Nations Army was filmed in a vacant department store in the same mall, and In the Air Tonight was filmed at a loading dock there. You MUST react to Warriors. Layne made his first appearance with his violin and immediately won the aka VioLayne. He's amazing.

That mall is where Pattycake Productions is. This started out as a short < 2 min but Layne and the guys were having so much fun that Layne just continued with the song. Everyone I've listened to loves this. It is a genuinely feel good song and video. Layne is AKA VioLayne. He is a classically trained violinist but since they do acapella he doesn't get to display it often. You can see him (and J None to a lesser degree) with his violin in Warriors from 3 years ago, also in Nothing Else Matters (the original has a guitar solo toward the end) where Layne plays his violin for that solo, and then there is this one. So not a lot of violin but there is some. I do recommend - Warriors (Imagine Dragons) is part of their post-apocalyptic trilogy over 3 yr period, followed by Dream On (Aerosmith) and finally Seven Nation Army (White Stripes) - as well as Nothing Else Matters (Metallica) - Who said an acapella group couldn't do Metallica? Loved your critters as well!

I love this one so much! Even without the video, it would be an absolutely fantastic cover. But that music video takes it into the stratosphere! What's really cool is that it has so much playability, because there is so much to pick up on, both audibly and visually. I've watched it countless times, and I'm still picking up new stuff. Voice play are the epitome of over-stimulation in the best possible way. They put so many little Easter eggs in their videos, and everything has a point. I end up watching the videos several times, not only because they are always amazing, but also because there is always something I didn't spot the first time around. Like it took me 2-3 watches of this to realise Cesar was hitting those angelic whistle notes, and to look at anyone other than Geoff and his shoulder shimmys during the dance scenes haha.

Great reaction. They had recorded this song years ago on their Time Machine Album. I always hoped they would revisit it someday and boy did they ever complete with their own brand of shenanigans and dad dancing. But the music! Stunning!

It’s a shame you didn’t get to meet J in Atlantic City. He was there as a backup in case Eli had to leave. (Fortunately Asher waited!). But J is very much a member of the Voiceplay family even though he’s now singing with the Navy Sea Chanters. By the way, you wouldn’t know it from his vocals here, but with the Sea Chanters he sings bass!

Layne's prowess with the violin earned him the nickname VioLayne. They actually made a shirt inspired by this performance. It says VioLayne on the front, with the "O" being the Voiceplay logo. Then on the back it says Acapella it's better with instruments. I think the squirrel on Layne's head is a perfect representation of his brain! Lol.

My favourite of theirs! I had to watch it twice. I got so caught up watching the animals that I had to see it again to watch VoicePlay. Kudos to whomsoever edited this - the singing is terrific & the video is terrific fun. I hope you see this, since it is on an older video of yours - VoicePlay recently dropped a new one that I would love to hear your ideas about. They did "Black Hole Sun" by SoundGarden and I believe it has some interesting post added on top of the 'distortion' they sang it with for the buzzy guitar part. Additionally, before that they did what fans are calling a 'Space Shanty' in "Sleeping in the Cold Below" from the video game WarFrame. Please consider reacting to these at least.
