Isn’t this just brilliant. Geoff’s worked long & hard on this arrangement & I think it’s there to see. He’s given everyone just the right solo & the best use of their abilities. They’re all so incredible. I’ve never even seen the show but that never seems to matter with Voiceplay. Geoff’s just dropped his God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen it is epic!!

This one is epic. Geoff’s arrangements just keep getting better and better. As does their vocal talents. Geoff just dropped God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. He and three of his alter egos have a wonderfully different take on this classic song, using all of his wide range and arranging talents, even switching the time signature part way through. I very much appreciate all the pauses; you always have some interesting technical details regarding how their voices are being utilized, and I always learn a lot from your commentary. This was such a treat to listen to; we've heard Rachel with VoicePlay quite a lot, but the addition of Emoni as well (who has also done a few collabs with the guys) takes it to another level. Two powerhouse ladies, along with the fellows (who we already know are vocal beasts); how could this be anything other than epic? And Geoff's arrangements (well, Layne's too, but since this is Geoff's piece...) have matured and improved so much lately. They are really refining their art, and let me tell you, I am *here for it*!! I love how they always manage to surprise us, changing things up while still remaining faithful to the original, but still putting that unexpected spin on things that makes the sound wholly and recognizably theirs. They are all such incredible talents, and it's such a joy to be able to listen to each video they put out and appreciate all the work that goes into these productions.

Don't apologize for pausing, when you're giving us such helpful insight, pointing out the technical and artistic elements that we're too overwhelmed to notice. And thank you for fangirling on my behalf! VoicePlay and Geoff in particular have become my favorites. I love the diversity of their collaborators, who are all incredibly talented singers. They work hard to make it look this easy, but you can see and feel how much fun they're having, and it's contagious.

Did you notice in the first part of Good News that Cesar leads with riff going up and then Eli riffing down? I didn’t think they could do better than Hoist the Colours, but this is so amazing. I love that they each get their moment to shine. And Layne! He just killed it. I love his little extras - popping the bubbles, and that head tilt at Populer-lar. In addition to his amazing vocals, Eli did the lighting. Geoff’s bass notes in the background, along with Layne’s drums keep it all just moving along. And can we talk about just how adorable Cesar is, in addition to his lovely voice? And Rachel and Emoni - each is formidable in their own right, but together … WOW 🤯 Stop all you want. I always learn something.

Geoff said he started this arrangement back in 2013, but couldn't find a way to make it sound as he envisioned it ... until now!! His creativity has no end, we're very spoiled! 😍. Everybody did a wonderful, amazing job! 🔥💯. Most VP arrangements are by Geoff or Layne, and all share the fact that VP adds their own signature to the original, making it almost a new song, their own!! And then those voices!! Perfection!! Happy to see you enjoyed this so much! Keep up the great work, please check Geoff's God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, you won't be disappointed! 💖

The part of the arrangement ''..I do believe that I've been changed for the better.. '' until where they transition into the other song - that Emoni and Rachel sing in harmony together - reminded me of the song When You Believe, that Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston dueted. Rachel toured with the National Tour of the Broadway show Wicked, where she played Glinda. I feel like Geoff and Layne both take inspiration from '80s and '90s style of music when they arrange their music. Awesome reaction as always. This song was amazing.

He didn’t know if women could even do subharmonics. In a qna, he said that some said they could. And yea. I’m curious to see if you can nail it, it’s taken me 3-4 years to get subs and even now I can’t do them well. Then again, hormone therapy made me have to relearn how to sing. 🤧 anyways. Hi Jenn. First I was thinking that in England, they probably don't call you Jenn, but Jennifer, Here in the US you would have been Jenn from when you were little. That is because here in the US we don't know how to speak the English language, we are lazy and were pigs ( I am teasing lol ) I am hoping I didn't offend you. In any case I am very impressed with the A Capella groups including the ones you do. ( Pentatonix, Home Free , Voctave). I am a little less familiar with Voice Play but it is interesting that they are from the Orlando, Florida area as well as Voctave ? I live on the west coast of Florida, and moved here from the Midwest and in a general sense. Florida is not a haven for great or even good musicians. LA, Nashville, New York are more known for that. I think I need to apologize to you for recommending Voctave. When I first listened to that Voctave clip and thought " If Jennifer is going to listen to this ,she is going to fall over dead ?" lol It has all the Jennifer things in it. It had tilts and suspended and augmented chords ( you refer to them as crunchy) that resolve. It has Kate Lott, that ridiculous soprano singing those beautiful parts. Did it check all the Jennifer boxes ? Probably ? One a scale of 1 to 10 , how would you rate that arrangement ? Probably an 11 ? You didn't have a chance and it was cruel for me to recommend it. You could have seriously hurt yourself listening to that. I fell like I came up to a known alcoholic and gave them a bottle of 151 rum. It was cruel and I am very sorry. Thanks Jennifer We love you. With love from Florida
