Una musica bellissima, un compositore praticamente sconosciuto, anche nella sua terra d'origine (il nostro amato Veneto), quando Venezia era la capitale culturale del mondo, una esecuzione fantastica, sorprendente, strumenti originali del 1600 e 1700, musicisti di bravura eccelsa, ripresa video in 4K al top della tecnica e della regia, registrazione audio di valore assoluto, al massimo livello che si possa desiderare attualmente, il tutto gratuitamente e senza alcuna pubblicità. Non solo! La mia rabbia di tutto il nostro Barocco italiano non coltivato e interpretato da quasi NESSUNO! Noi italiani non sappiamo o non vogliamo favorire il nostro patrimonio culturale! I first watched this performance last year at the beginning of the pandemic and since then have watched a few other performances of this piece. This performance and these musicians have verve! Bounce! Joy! I still, a year later, get a boost from this!

There is a lot of music I have come to love over the years; THIS one I have come to adore. The greatest vision in my life was of this angel in white gliding slowly down the aisle towards me to take my hand in marriage... to the beginnings strains of Antonio Bettali`s "Ciaconna". It was nuptial poetry. Your version is absolutely beautiful and I cherish your particular arrangement of it and the musicianship involved. This is the type of piece which allows some interpretive freedom and it brims with life in this performance....and, yes, brings a tear to my eye with its beauty. I also like the simple joy emanating from Ms. Youssefian as if to say, "This is the greatest experience in the world to be here at this moment playing this captivating music with such fine musicians!"

Since I was very young, I was always interested in early music played in original instruments and after so many decades we are so lucky to experience the quality of virtuosity, artistry and musicianship of these gifted and dedicated musicians. The passion for the music takes it away from the theory or academic musicology to a vibrant, very human tour de force. Without the complete dedication and passion of all of you, these past cultural jewels would be complete unknown to us and give voice to those incredible composers of so long ago. Thanks for showering us with such musical gifts!
