We owe a debt Paul we cannot ever repay. As the lyrics in my song so aptly say: "Don't Dishonor me, by losing your Liberties." One of the best and most noble things we can do for our Veterans and our country today is to not let go of our liberties/freedoms and to fight for them!!

Paul I was thrilled to go back into my archives and retrieve this story. It is one of my all time favorite D-Day stories. I hope Curtis and the others are looking down from Heaven and smiling at us as we learn more about their sacrifices for us.

Thank God for men like him on this special day......or we all would be talking German today. Those Higgins boats were like the Huey,s were in Nam. I could not imagine at that age..or any age what them guys went through that made it alive. I Love America and God!

Yes, Chris, my exacts thoughts and words. I became fascinated with the Higgins boats 20 years ago and the Huey helicopters in Vietnam.

WOW….this is the first time I’ve heard about the Germans potentially lighting the sea on fire. Larry, you’re probably bored of me saying it, but your interviews never cease to amaze. After 30yrs of studying this period in history, here I am learning something new.

NEVER bored, Phil. I learn more everyday from my Veterans. I am glad I decided to share Curtis Hansen's story today. I have many more WWII stories like his in my archives.

The B-26 marauders were to take care of that emplacement above the beaches. They did crater the hell out of it but like he said the germans moved large caliber guns and troops out days before. We had p-38s with cameras get photos a month before and had a few spies below the bluffs but it was what it was.
